IPG Explosives

This is a page dedicated to the various types of IPG specific explosive devices to be used in demolitions. These are devices which can be used by all branches of the IPG. Certain explosives may be requested by other branches of the SMDIoN, depending on the need and intended use. These packages were first standardized in YE 34.

Demolition Charge

Also known as a satchel charge, this is a catch-all term for any kind of explosive package that has the blast equivalence of 4-8lbs (ADR 2-4) of rx33. These explosive packages usually contain plastic explosives within a simple carrying case, like a backpack or briefcase. Their use is usually common to sabotage raids (by the Commandos) or assassination attempts (by the Intelligence bods).

Shaped Charge

This is a door breaching charge, intended to be used to create an entry way for the IPG. It is usually packed the explosive power of 2-6 (ADR 1-3) lbs of plastic explosives. Shaped charges are usually used against doors or walls. The use for larger charges is normally reserved for boarding actions against thick, starship blast doors.

Pen Bomb

The Pen Bomb, or Clicker by its colloquial name, is a pen packed with RX33. It takes four clicks within a five second time frame to arm the detonator. After that, the agent has thirty seconds to get away before it explodes. The Pen Bomb usually has a blast of (PDR4 ) within a ten meter radius. It is favored by the Commandos and Intelligence agents.

Lighter Bomb

Like the Clicker, the Lighter Bomb (or Sparker), is a small concealable explosive. It requires a single successful strike of the flint to activate the timer and detonator. A ten second countdown commences. It can be deactivated by two subsequent successful strikes. The lighter is designed to strike successfully first time, every time. The Sparker has an explosive blast of (PDR1) in a three meter radius. It is a favorite of the IPG assassins who hand a lighter to their target as a present before leaving.

Gun Bomb

This is a gun that, for all intents and purposes, looks exactly like a Zen Armaments .45 Caliber Pistol, but is packed with deadly explosives. All it requires is one pull on the trigger before it immediately explodes. The pistol frame is packed with 2-4 lbs (ADR 1-2) of RX33. Usually left as a decoy weapon an enemy to play with and, hopefully, blow himself up. If nothing else, it features a timer allowing it to be left behind as a “trophy” or a “discarded weapon.”

Knife Bomb

Shaped like a Utility Combat Knife M01A, the Knife Bomb features a hollow hilt and spring-loaded blade. It is not meant to be used by IPG agents, but by their enemies. The blade will simply spring back into the handle and trigger an immediate (PDR2) blast that ought to blow off an enemy's arm. The blade can be locked so that the knife can also be used as a tool or a weapon. During tests, the knife bomb was often confused for a normal combat knife by the testers up until they were told by the developers what they were using.

Datajockey Bomb

Shaped like an AwesomeCorp DataJockey, the device is a datajockey frame that contains a simple computer unit. The computer responds to a limited set of commands. First, it can be instructed to act as a timer for the detonator for up to five minutes. Its second setting is an immediate explosion upon the next command entered. The datajockey displays a smiley face right before it explodes. It has enough explosive force to equal 2-4 lbs (ADR1-2of RX33.
