The authority and the man or woman one answers to on the Battlefield. Master Sergeants may have control of the company of soldiers, or the platoon itself, but any soldier under the Master Sergeant answers directly to him/her. A Marine of the Master Sergeant has displayed exemplary field expertise to warrant this promotion. A character of this rank makes 800 DA a week.
