This highly powerful weapon fires a pulse of high energy plasma. The important factor is that this pulse is ‘phased’ outside of the universe while they travel, and only revert back in to normal space once they have passed shields, or in the case of power armour, until they have already penetrated the armour. The way this is done is through a complex scanning system built in to the rifle, which projects the pulse as so to return to normal space after a certain distance. The sophistication of the system means it can take in to account projected movement and other factors of that nature, creating a truly devastating weapon.
