Build and Skin Color: Neither particularly toned, out-of-shape, tall or short, Ko retains the lean and athletic Yamataian enlisted build common amongst males of the species, complete with a pleasantly pale complexion tinged by just a hint of cloudiness. Standing at a modest meter-and-a-half in height and a lean sixty-six kilograms, Santô Hei Monomonoi is most assuredly not an intimidating figure by any standard.

Facial Features and Eye Color: Of average and generally unassuming appearance by Yamataian standards, Ko sports a pair of lucidly attentive hazel eyes. While not the most attractive fellow in the galaxy, young Ko nevertheless tries to maintain a healthy and clean appearance, his face devoid of natural body hair due to genetic alterations during the transfer from Ko’s original Geshrin body to the new Yamataian one he possesses now.

Hair Color and Style: Parted down the middle so as not to drape over his eyes, Ko’s dark cherry red hair just barely reaches the nape of his neck with its bowl-like cut. Neither too long to require tying or cutting nor too short so as not to potentially be bound or braided if he felt so inclined, Ko ensures that his hair remains easily maintained for both on- and off-duty purposes.

Personality: If there existed a single word capable of expressing the majority of Ko’s personality, that word would emphatically be “pragmatic.” Focused and diligent, Ko doesn’t just putts around and wait for orders to filter down the line. His job as a Science Advisor within the Star Army is to address scientific queries, apply the scientific process to problems and solve them accordingly, as well as maintain and operate sensors when aboard an actively serving ship or chipping in wherever he’s needed; which is to say that Ko is almost always busy, and takes his duties as a soldier very seriously.

His reasons for enlistment into the armed forces are two-fold. Chief amongst these reasons are his parents, who both currently serve the Empire through the Star Army and have since before Ko was born. While it might be cliché to follow in his parent’s footsteps, there’s no denying that they would – or, more specifically, do – like him to serve Yamatai in a military capacity, even if it’s only for a short term. The second and more superfluous of the two reasons is personal interest, taking advantage of the accommodations provided by the Star Army to supplement his education (chiefly his interest in science) as well as take his first steps towards independence and self-sufficiency, away from his family and his life in the capital of Kyoto.

• YE 12: Monomoi Ko is born in Geshrinopolis to Monomonoi Hideaki and Monomonoi Mitsuru, active Geshrin soldiers serving in the Star Army.

• YE 14: Second Elysian War begins. Ko is left in the care of various caregivers while his parents join the war effort.

• YE 15: Second Elysian War ends. Ko’s parents return to Geshrinopolis and resume raising their son on-base.

• YE 23: Fourth Elysian War begins. Ko, now ten-years-old, is again separated from his parents as they leave to confront the Elysian forces, leaving him in the care of familial friends in Geshrinopolis.
  • Between YE 23 and YE 25: When the Elysian’s began their attack on Geshrinopolis, Ko narrowly escaped a grizzly fate aboard one of many of the transports that relocated on- or off-world before the assault on the capital city, inevitably spending the rest of his time during the war in space.

• YE 25: Fourth Elysian War ends. After two years of separation, Ko is again returned to his parents following the signing of the Elysian-Yamatai Peace Treaty and the assassination of the Elysian Emperor. Upon their reunion, they relocate back to Yamatai and take up residence in the rebuilt capital of Kyoto.

• YE 28: Yamatai Upgrades become readily available. Ko – now sixteen – and his parents upgrade to new Yamataian bodies. Monomonoi Hideaki and Monomonoi Mitsuru return to active duty after their upgrade, and enter the fray in order to fend off the SMX incursion, continuing to do so to this date. Ko takes up a temporary residency with civilian friends.

• YE 30: Monomonoi Ko enlists in the Star Army of Yamatai at age eighteen as a Science Advisor and begins military training.

• YE 32: Ko completes Basic Training at Fort Victory in Kyoto and Advanced Individual Training in Astrobiology at the Star Army Educational Facility #2 in Tania. Start of official military career.

• Ko is familiar with basic radio operation and procedures and can make and receive transmissions from other characters through headsets, starships, power armor, and shuttles in both combat and non-combat conditions. Ko is fluent in both Nepleslian and Yamataian. He can speak and write both correctly and efficiently, write reports, fill forms, issue orders under fire, so on and so forth. He’s also capable of minor telepathic communication, as per his Yamataian physiology.

• Perhaps not the most exciting or interesting skill Ko possesses, he’s nevertheless more than capable of taking care of menial household tasks. While certainly no master chef, Ko can cook at an adequate level, as well as perform a multitude of other menial tasks such as cleaning, sewing, and – in a pinch – childcare.

• As an enlisted soldier in the Star Army of Yamatai, Ko received hand-to-hand combat training, followed up with a rigorous training program. He is skilled but inexperienced in combat within both Yamatai-like conditions and in zero-gravity, with and without weapons. Weapons he is trained in include energy pistols, energy rifles, grenades, knives, and power armor.

• Ko received basic mathematics training, including up to calculus and trigonometry.

• Like all soldiers within the Star Army, Ko is fluent in the traditional seven-line emergency aid request procedure, as well as properly tying tourniquets, applying pressure dressings, and evaluating casualties.
  • Basic First Aid (Specialization): While certainly not on par with a trained medic, Santô Hei Monomonoi took an active interest in procuring basic first aid training outside of his education in Astrobiology, both to supplement his scientific specialization in a biology field as well as for practical purposes. Ko might not be a doctor, but he can still perform simple medical feats, such as setting broken bones, treating minor burns, and performing emergency resuscitation on a patient who has ceased breathing.

• Knowledgeable in a broad array of basic Natural and Social sciences, Ko is also well-versed in the applied interdisciplinary field of Astrobiology.
  • Astrobiology (Specialization): An amalgamation of several practical sciences such as physics, chemistry, geology, geography, planetary science, and various forms of biology; Ko had always been fascinated with life beyond the Geshrin and Yamatai core, and was one of the driving reasons he pursued his AIT in Exobiology upon enlistment. Ko’s training in this field of science affords him the skills and knowledge necessary for examining geological, geographical, and biological specimens for documentation, preservation, and research through comparative-contrastive studies, which both provides a plethora of practical uses within the Star Army as well as something the young Yamataian shows great interest and aptitude in.

• Ko is capable of operating any computer system that uses the Kessaku OS, found on all Star Army starships. He is proficient in entering as well as searching for information. He is also familiar with how to use and operate all common Star Army sensory equipment, as is typical for his role as a Science Advisor.
  • Scientific Equipment (Specialization): In addition to being able to operate the traditional Kessaku Operating System and handle information input and retrieval, Ko has also been trained to use scientific machinery and tools common to the Star Army of Yamatai.

Monomonoi Ko is currently a Santô Hei in the Star Army of Yamatai. He receives a weekly salary of 50 KS per week.
