The Master Chief is a basically a Chief (Old Nepleslian Rank) upgraded to a master status on a Naval Corps vessel. Master Chiefs usually take command of all the squads of Marines with Chiefs and Sergeants under him. In the case that there are too many squads for one Master Chief to handle, another Master Chief is appointed and a Senior Chief (Old Nepleslian Rank) is placed in command of the two or more Master Chiefs. If there is only one Master Chief, he/she will act as a representative voice to all the enlisted and chiefs below him. If there are more than one Master Chiefs, that responsibility will be transfered to a Senior Chief (Old Nepleslian Rank). As a representative, the Master Chief is also one of the most skilled fighters on the ship (if not the best.) A character of this rank makes 600 DA a week.
