Kin Nakamura

Kin Nakamura is a player character played by Kai and is currently involved in the Star Army Reserve.

Height: 6'2” Mass: 175

Build and Skin Color: Kin has a somewhat thin, yet muscular build. He is tall enough that he would look wiry if he weren't muscled as he is. His skin is a light golden tan color, as if he were a Caucasian with a perpetual tan.

Facial Features and Eye Color: Kin has a mild chin, giving him a slightly pointed face, and soft looking eyes that give off a sense of kindness. In normal situations Kin's expression is one of mild amusement, or interest. Kin's eyes are a light honey color, almost to the point of being golden.

Hair Color and Style: Kin's hair is golden blond and kept long, brushed back so it is out of the way. while it is very straight, the ends are somewhat awkwardly cut, making it seem wild at times.

Distinguishing Features: Kin wears a pair of aviators at all times, except when flying a Powered armor. He does this because when younger, as a Geshrin, Kin had horrible eyesight, and just got used to having glasses. The Lenses are light gold and provide no real protection.

Personality: Kin is very comfortable with military life and and the procedures that come with it. His mannerisms would almost seem lazy, but their precision and correctness show that they are simply second nature to him. He is a laid back guy in casual situations, and knows how to take life easy when he gets the chance, but he is very much a professional while on duty.

Likes: Cooking, Piloting Powered Armor, following orders, Women, and relaxing when off-duty. Dislikes: Disorder, Unprovoked attacks, people who don't understand why militaries exist, and getting dirty. Goals: Save as many people as he can, and become a leader.

Kin Nakamura was born on Democratic Imperium of Nepleslia in YE 09, to Geshrin parents. When Kin was two they moved to Yamatai, in an effort to get away from the turmoil that was Nepleslia at the time. Kin became interested in several types of sports and quickly demonstrated that he had an ability beyond that of most people his age. Kin continued to be active in sports most of his life, but never ventured into the professional realm. Through his time living in Yamatai, Kin grew a great amount of national pride for Yamatai, and decided he would join the Military.

At age 18, he indeed joined the Star Army of Yamatai, but was held back from the front lines due to being a Geshrin. After several uneventful years in the military, the species restriction act came about and Kin felt it necessary to switch to a Yamataian body. This resulted in him finally getting assigned active duty, where he quickly demonstrated that his situational awareness first discovered during sports was a great attribute on the battlefield.

Kin Nakamura served on the YSS Senbu for Several months, after the ship he had been assigned to was destroyed in battle. However, as soon as he was able, the Power Armor pilot opted for a transfer to another position. Kin ended up being shuffled around the galaxy not accomplishing much until he was finally assigned to the new YSS Genesis.

Kin is familiar with basic radio operation and procedures and can make transmissions to and receive transmissions from other characters through headsets, starships, power armor, and shuttles in both combat and non-combat conditions. Kin is fluent in Nepleslian. He can speak and write both correctly and efficiently and can write reports, fill forms, issue orders under fire, etc.

Kin received hand-to-hand combat training, followed up with a rigorous training program. He is skilled and experienced in combat both in Yamatai-like conditions and in zero-gravity, with and without weapons. Weapons he is trained in include energy pistols, knives, and power armor.

Kin is capable of operating any computer system that uses the Kessaku OS, found on all Star Army starships. He is proficient in entering and/or searching for information.

Kin received basic mathematics training, to including up to algebra and trigonometry.

Oddly enough, Kin is skilled at cooking many types of dishes, and knows his way around a kitchen. Kin is capable of making any dish, so long as he has a recipe, and personally knows over 100 recipes by heart.

Kin has amazing situational awareness which allows him to keep track of where he is in relation to everything going on in a battle that he can see. Things like his role in the fight, the locations of his allies, enemies, and himself, even what maneuvers seem best seem to always be on the forefront of his mind. When utilizing an IES his natural talents are supplemented by the unit's tactical recommendations, calculations, and enhanced sensor ranges.

Kin knows how to survive in hostile environments. He can build shelters, hunt and forage for food, build a fire, etc. Kin also knows emergency contact procedures such as signaling with mirrors, creating signal fires and, if he has access to flags, Semaphore.
