Kl’irus Gravity Car

A Neshaten car built and designed for anyone, even kits, to use on the road. Made in ER 770 and put into service in ER 772.

About the Kl’irus

The Kl’irus was a gravity car designed to replace older, more out-dated and less environmentally friendly vehicles. The vehicle is equipped with a lot of safety systems so it can be used by Kits and Adults alike, designed to hold at most four people, there are two versions of the vehicles depending on who is buying and who is using.

There is storage for cargo in the back and under the seats but also on the ground.

History

Kl’irus was an inspirational idea by entrepreneur Yukise’neala Kl’irus, in an effort to replace vehicles that were using tires or those that guzzled gasoline. The vehicle went through a number of revisions, including safety and environmental ones, before getting to the stage it is now.

The original Kl’irus was designed purely for adults to use, but during these stages it was realized that the number of safety features in the car combined with the type of driving tests given, could very well make it safe for even kits as young at ten to use.

Appearance

Default Look

The K'lirus is a smoothed out box with four large windows, a rear trunk, and a slightly fancy metal step on either side. There are tail lights on both the front and rear, along with glowing strips along the sides. There are four gravity units located on the cars underside, and two 'fins' on the backside.

The car has a more vintage look to it.

Inside the Kl’irus

The Kl’irus has a decent starting interior, with the most of the insides which can be custom designed or changed based on the buyers desire. For the default, the interior has leather seating with two seats located forward and three rear seats with arm rests embedded in the backseat and also on the passengers and river side. The driver’s seat is located on the right.

The back seats can be removed to allow for additional storage, or can merely be folded downward if the seats don’t need to be removed.

There is a door on the sides that moves upward to facilitate easy getting in and out from the front and back, the doors can also be easily removed in an emergency either by pulling a lever on the ceiling or by accessing an additional lever that is located under the vehicle.

The windows are made out of either laminated glass or from shaped force fields.

Most of the interior is lit up by flouriest lighting, with the drivers panel being the most lit up.

Seats

All five seats in the Kl’irus are designed for comfort and are made out of a leather like material, out of these five seats, an optional swivel seat can replace the passenger side seat, which allows the passenger to easily talk to other passengers in the vehicle.

Cargo-compartment

Located mainly the rear is the cargo-compartment where items such as groceries can be stored or other items.

Lights

The internal lighting is located along the rim of the inside of the car, to give passengers the ability to see where the edge of the floor is because stepping out but also along the ceiling and drivers bash board.

Systems

Body and Frame

The vehicle is comprised of a composite aluminum that includes a reinforced titanium body frame. This gives the vehicle its light weight but also its toughness to survive crashes.

Collision Avoidance System

The heart of any Neshaten civilian vehicle is the CAS, or Collision Avoidance System. The system monitors aspects of the vehicle, helping to ensure that the vehicle is operating the way it’s meant to be operated and not operating the way it isn’t supposed to be.

The CAS includes a number of systems, including autopilot, the collision avoidance system, an impact alert system.

Autopilot

Autopilot works by automatically piloting the car through the streets with the only input from the occupants being the vehicles destination. It uses a combination of different systems, including satellite based GPS but also ground based GPS such as the sensors located in roadways to help determine distance from the car ahead and behind.

The system obeys all traffic laws, and will use GPS to find alternative paths in the event of crashes or construction but will also use this system to avoid areas of danger such as where police are operating. When going on long distance drive, system searches for the shortest route possible while avoiding military air-space.

Collision Avoidance System

The CAS is a system of external and internal systems that works in conjunction with local GPS and road systems and even a streets cameras to ensure that safe driving is happening, in the event that a crash might happen then the system automatically engages to avoid the crash at all costs and protect the occupants inside. This includes engaging the vehicles air-flight capabilities to propel it upward, or to engage the other various safety systems onboard.

The system also alerts the driver when the vehicle is too close to another vehicle, or even to another object – such as buildings when air-flight mode is engaged. The system gives the driver only five seconds to avoid collision, before the system auto-engages to correct the path of the vehicle.

When the vehicle gets into a crash, it’ll automatically contact the nearest emergency call center to report the crash.

Dash Board

The dashboard is where all of the vehicles technical information is displayed, including the vehicles speed and current heading and GPS coordinates along with a map of the general area. Also displayed is the current heat buildup in the gravity pods, and the power generator.

Control Systems

The vehicle’s control system is comprised of the steering wheel and control wheel along with speed control, flight control, kit mode, and adult mode.

Control Description
Steering Wheel The street wheel is a rounded object that the driver can use to control the vehicles left and right motion, or yaw, up and down motion when in flight mode. The wheel has controls for speed, auto-pilot, and volume for the radio.
Control Wheel The control wheel is another kind of control device that also controls the vehicles left and right motion or the up and down and yaw motion while in flight mode. It also has volume and speed controls.
Mode Description
Adult Mode Unrestricted access, gives the adult driver full control over the vehicle and it’s systems with the exception of the safety and security systems.
Kit Mode This mode is used for when a kit is driving, it engages the KSS system while also transmitting the vehicles location to local driver safety centers. The mode also alters the dash board; to give the Kit a more easily understood system. The mode also causes the passenger side dash-mode to come online and relay the default dash mode so that the passenger there can make certain the Kit is driving responsibly and safely. All of this information is also transmitted to the safety centers.

Safety Systems

The Kl’irus is equipped with a number of safety features in order to help make the vehicle usable by kits, but also to give the occupants of the vehicle a safe experience.

Concussion Shielding

Concussion Shielding is a form of light energy fields that interacts with a person’s body to prevent them from moving forward or back, when used in conjunction with a vehicle’s safety systems, the shielding sets up into four layers with each one gradually slowing the occupant of the vehicle as they are propelled forward from a crash or from a sudden stop.

The actual strength of the fields depends on several factors, including vehicle speed, speed of impact, onboard cargo, and number of occupants.

Driver Safety Mechanics

The driver’s seat has a few additional safety features, including a tougher seat belt. However, there is also a voice recognition system that gauges the driver’s ability to drive; for the most part the system doesn’t do much except when the driver is determined to be intoxicated. When the recognition software makes this determination, it’ll automatically engage the auto-pilot and take the driver straight home; however a safety feature built into this system means that if the driver attempts to over-ride the system then the general authorities are notified.

Gravity Repulsion Bumpers

A gravity bumper is a thin rim along the outside of the vehicle that gently ‘nudges’ objects out of the vehicles path but can also be used to warn the driver of objects that it can’t push – such as people or heavy objects like crates. When the vehicle get’s into a crash, or when the onboard collision avoidance systems engage, the repulsion field increases by nearly three times the normal, which can prevent the vehicle from impacting the car ahead by actually slowing itself down. It can extend up to ten meters with the veriable based on the actual speed of the vehicle.

Seat Belts

The vehicle has seat belts for every seat, which helps strap in the driver and their occupants and provides a little added protection in the event of a crash. The seat belts consist of a single cross shoulder belt and lap belt, but can be upgraded to a twin or even triple crossing shoulder belt.

Gel Bags

Located on the front dash board, along the sides, and even within the seats themselves are gel bags. These bags deploy in the event of a high-speed impact, with a gelatin solution that is bumped into the bag that rapidly deployed it in front of the persons chest and legs; after several seconds when the vehicle is no longer in motion and no additional impacts have been detected by the onboard collision system, an agent will be deployed into the gel to break it down into its basic materials so that the bags will deflate.

Kit Safety System

The KSS is a system used in the vehicle that allows for a Kit as young as ten to operate the vehicle, the system works by assisting the kit in the vehicles day to day operations, such as maintaining a distance behind a vehicle, increasing or decreasing the vehicles speed, or even presenting the dash board in more simplistic language for the kit to understand.

Black Box

Located in the vehicles forward compartment behind a sealed titanium box is the black box, a system that records any and all information from the vehicle for use in crash studies. The black box works in conjunction with the vehicles CAS

Communications Systems

The Kl’irus has a number of communications systems including satellite GPS, local and satellite radio, and telecommunications as well as wireless communications with nearby safety centers. There are surround sound speakers for music and other audio vehicles, or headset jacks for personal listening devices.

Voice Communications

This system is used mostly by emergency responders but can also be used for personal communications. The system allows the driver to converse with other people not in their car without needing to get out but can also be used for contacting people. It’s a hands free device.

Along with this, the system is also directly connected to the emergency response services and safety centers. It’s also connected to the cars computer systems, and can warn the driver of any anomalies or dangers. The Safety Centers can use this system to contact the driver in case they notice anything wrong with how the vehicle is operating, though this part of the system is actually only used for Kit’s, to help make certain they obey the law and don’t do anything reckless.

Comfort Controls

The vehicle has temperature control systems to help keep it comfortable during hot nights or days; it also has an air-circulation system. When in flight mode, and above 3,000 feet, the cabin becomes pressurized.

Security Systems

The Kl’irus has a number of security systems including automatic locks, anti-tamper protection, and even an alert system for if someone outside is trying to break in.

Automatic Locks

On the doors are biometric and DNA keypads that secure a door from being opened by people whom do not own the vehicle or that don’t have permission to use it. These locks require a person’s finger to open, but can also be designed to allow a password key.

Tamper Protection

The Kl’irus has an anti-tampering protection, which ensures that the vehicles electronics aren’t tamped with. This includes the automatic locks, the collision avoidance system, and also ‘all’ of the safety systems. When tampering is detected, the owner of the vehicle is informed of this tampering via wireless communications but the tampering is also reported to local area officers.

Car Alarm

If a car door is broken into, the windows are busted, or if the vehicle has a force field window system that is brought offline, then a loud car alarm is engaged warning those in the area of the criminal activity. The alarm can ‘only’ be turned off by the owner, as the box that controls this alarm is located deep inside of the vehicle and is connected to its own small battery so that disconnecting the power source doesn’t turn it off.

Power Supply

The vehicle is powered by a Luna Power Generator that is located in the forward section of the car.

Propulsion

Vehicular Anti-Grav Units

The vehicle has four anti-gravity units, two located forward and two rear, these units have three anti-gravity generators in each. At least one generator out of each unit is designed to lift the vehicle up off the ground when on street level while in the air all three will act in this fashion. It is designed for redundancy.

Vehicular Gravity Control Engines

The VGCE are two gravity engines located on the rear and off to the sides, that gives the vehicle thrust capability while in the air.

Racing Fins

Fins that can be attached to the front or sides to give the appearance of a facing vehicle.

Additional Lighting

Additional lightning can be added to the vehicle.

Three Tiered Seat Belt

The Three tiered seat belt is similar to a racing belt, it that that straps come over the shoulders and connect to form a Y over the person's body and then connects into a holder located at the base of the seat. The belts are designed to handle a heavy impact.

:!: Warning, these seat belts should NOT be used to protect kits as young as twelve, due to the high risk of chest injury in a high speed impact. :!:

Swivel Seat

The Swivel Seat is a seat that can rotate up to three hundred and sixty degrees; it is made out of the same material as the other seats in a car. It has a locking components located the base so that the seat can't be moved accidentally, in order to spin the seat the passenger must depress a button to disengage the lock.

Force Field Windows

:!: Warning: this is an experimental system. It is only available to the military and citizens with a clean driving record :!:

An experimental concept, the Force Field Window is a light barrier that takes the place of the laminated windows, an optional component and not standard on the vehicle, it must be custom ordered and installed. The windows work by curving around the cabin to form a protective barrier from the in and outside. The barrier also has a slight repulsive property to it to repel objects such as bugs or rocks.

The field is powered by six emitters, three located front left/right and three located rear left/right and six located on the front dash and rear side. The emitters draw their power from the cars power generator but have a capacitor that allows them to store power. In an emergency, the emitters can easily be turned off.

Often times these windows are paired with the laminated one's to increase safety and security, but can replace them all together.

Armor Plating

In order to protect the occupants better, armor plating can be added to the Kl'irus which gives it additional armored protection. The process of adding this armor is not only difficult, but also very time consuming, requiring mechanics and engineers to disassemble the vehicle entirely and then essentially rebuild it.

Custom Body Work

The default Kl'irus can have its body changed depending on what the customer desires. This means that the vehicle can go from its default look, to having a more streamlined appearance or into another kind of appearance that a person desires, the change in body can only be done as long as the vehicles systems can remain. In essence, it's quite possible to find a vehicle that doesn't have the same appearance as the default Kl'irus yet still be the same vehicle just with a different appearance.

Because of these changes, the actual cost can vary anywhere from 500 Rh to nearly 25,000 Rh.

Car Seats

Car Seats are seats within the car that are used either for additional comfort over the standard car seat, or are seats more designed for people with disabilities or for kits that are too young to use a regular seat belt.

The seats that can be added are racing style seats, which come with specialized belts. There are also seats that are just made to be more comfortable with added foam or inserts. There are also child-seats, designed for kits as young as ten. Disabled seats are seats that run on a mechanical 'arm' that moves the seat outside of the car, allowing a person who is handicap physically to better able to get into the car.

All car seats are adjustable.
