The command structure of the United Norian Navy. The current ranking scheme was made in YE 44 when the ISAN became the United Norian Imperium was formed.
The military of the Norian people began as the Chrystalis Knights under the rule of Caecyan Eitan during the The Falcon Movement around 900BYE. As Noria's political system evolved so did its military, which in YE 01 became the Norian Imperial Armed Forces. The name was short lived because when Adrin Eitan took the throne following his father's abdication and the resolution of the Dysterian War changed it again, to the Norian Galactic Navy which it remained as until YE 30 when Adrin Eitan was captured by the Umarians.
YE 30 was a pivotal and crucial time in the development of the military. The size and rank structure grew exponentially at the time. Many technological advances and advantages were gained from the research on Leviathan Technology during the end of the Umarian Wars. The military once more was changed to the Norian Continuum Navy to suit the needs of the now massive nation, and the research being resulted in voidtech which in turn, caused the Void Wars. The Norian Continuum Navy and the MERN (Minatu Empire Royal Navy) were one and the same, due to Tetsuya Eitan (Airwin Caeyara) and Sinith Caeyara's marriage which placed each of their empires in union.
Finally in YE 44, when Tetsuya Eitan (Airwin Caeyara) returned from the Tsenlan state of the Yamatai Star Empire the current United Norian Navy was created at the same time as the nation became the United Norian Imperium. This final transformation took rank and structure concepts from the past and merged them together into a cohesive command structure.

In YE 44, Tetsuya Eitan (Airwin Caeyara) made an Imperial Decree which required all able bodied citizens not enrolled in the Imperial Academy of Defense Education to become officers, had to serve a mandatory six year period in the service of the United Norian Navy. This action was taken to help build the military's numbers after the Craethel War. In YE 45, Tetsuya Eitan (Airwin Caeyara) offered any soldier that signed a ten year contract, instead of six, would receive a large payout and award from the ruling Ysi.
In YE 46 when Sylix Lunari took the throne and became the sole ruler of the United Norian Imperium having no heirs and expertise to run the military herself, she created a rank which allowed Chancellor Vaelaris Orinas to have authority over the United Norian Navy. This action stands in violation of previously made constitutional laws which denied the Quorom or Senate to have control of the military. Many seen this a violation of law as a step in the wrong direction by an inexperienced and naive leader .
In YE 44, when the United Norian Navy was formed, it was decided that the Planetary Marines and the Standard Navy would have the same command and rank structures.
