A non-lethal weapon used to stun and disorient, the type 20 Star'ling Flashbang emits both a blinding flash of light of up to Six Hundred(600) Thousand Candela, which is more than enough to temporarily blind a Shukaren or My'leke due to being nocturnal species. The other part of the grenade is the noise, which is upwards of two hundred and sixty (260) decibles.

The effects of this grenade includ blindness, deafness and ringing in the ears. There is also the chance of some internal ear damage that'll last for up to five minutes or less depending on whether it's a person's primary sense or not. The effects of the blindness and deafness, along with the ringing, can last up to six to ten seconds.

The type 20 Flashbang has a maximum effective radius of eight(8) feet while using the ball style of grenade, it does 'not' use the Shuriken style.
