Star Army Fleets

The Star Army of Yamatai operates a substantial number of starships, which are organized into fleets or sometimes into independent task forces.

Star Army Fleets are each assigned a mission. Standard fleets protect a region of space and/or have an assigned function. For example, the First Fleet is the Star Army's main tactical fleet and is assigned to carry out day-to-day missions whereas the Second Fleet is a strategic fleet which is set up to provide mass attacks or mass responses to large enemy fleets, acting as a deterrent.

Star Army fleets typically contain:

• A flagship, typically an Izanagi-Class Dreadnought
• A primary base of operations, typically a “Star Fortress,” for example: Irim's City
• Hundreds of starships, organized into combat divisions:
  • 1st Division
  • 2nd Division

Star Army fleets may also contain the following divisions:

• Engineering division (e.g. starship repairs)
• Medical division
• Military Police Division (rare)
• Logistics support division (common)
• Recon/scout division a.k.a. Intelligence Support
• Training division

Each fleet is commanded by a rank of Taisho, who reports to the commander of the Star Army of Yamatai.

The main combat divisions and major bases are commanded by Chujo.

Support divisions are typically smaller and are commanded by Shôshô.

Starships are commanded by ranks Taii to Taisa, with higher ranks getting the larger ships (more people to command) and smaller ranks getting the smaller ships.
