Shimura Grace is a Minkan Yamataian mixed dark-skinned Nepleslian descent with dark brown hair and brown eyes. She stands at 178cm, a fit build, and weighs in at 60kg.

Body measurements: 36C-29-37

Personality-wise, she is considered a quiet and calculating leader. She is not known to interact with lower-level leaders/soldiers, preferring to let her Senior Enlisted Advisor handle all of that for her.

Born in YE 12 on Yamatai, Shimura Grace is the child of a Nepleslian merchant and a Yamataian diplomat when both were a unified nation. In YE 28 when the split occurred, her father and mother had a falling out with competing nationalism. He would leave for the Nepleslia, failing to convince his daughter to embrace her inner Nepleslian half and come with her when she was 16. While she understands her father's motivation, she still despises (and by extension the DIoN) for breaking up her family.

She attended the Kyoto War College in YE 30 and graduated in YE 34 with a thesis proposing the creation of a more specialized power armor units and combined arms legions. Though her paper had nothing to do with their creation, she was quite excited to hear about the formation of the Rangers and more so with the Giretsu. She gives a lot of leeway with her own Giretsu Century to develop in their own way due to a lack of Corps level command.

She has since gradually risen up the ranks first on Naval ships, but eventually with Rikugun legions such as the 9th and the 2nd Legions. In YE 43, she was assigned as the commander of the 41st Army of the 9th Area Army of the Star Army Rikugun. Later, she also became the commander of Rikugun Base Fujiko. In YE 46 when the 75th Legion was transferred to the 46th Army of the 1st Expeditionary Area Army, Grace was transferred to the Rikugun University to become the university's first president.

Shimura Grace has the following skills:

• Communication: Shimura Grace is familiar with basic radio operation and procedures and can make transmissions to and receive transmissions from other characters through headsets, starships, power armor, and shuttles in both combat and non-combat conditions. She is fluent in Trade (language) and Yamataigo (邪馬台語).
• Fighting: Shimura Grace is a graduate of the SAIC, using her connections and rank to get a slot. She has just above-average (does not regularly train like normal Giretsu) marksmanship and hand-to-hand skills in power armor. She is however a very proficient swordswoman with the Nitô Ryu style and Sora-Mai.
• Humanities: A flag officer, Shimura Grace is proficient in diplomacy. She has a decent understanding of psychology she uses to understand when she might be pushing too hard or to predict the actions of her opponents.
• Knowledge: Shimura Grace is familiar with most regulations of the Yamatai Star Empire and knows how to research to discover ones she does not. She is also an avid fan of military and Yamatai history.
• Leadership: Despite her position, Shimura Grace is not the greatest of public speakers. But she makes up for it in her command ability of large units and properly motivating the officers under her.
• Mathematics: Shimura Grace isn't the greatest at math, ignoring it despite her upbringing. She is only capable of basic calculus.
• Technology Operation: Shimura Grace is capable of operating any computer system that uses the Kessaku OS, found on all Star Army starships. She is proficient in entering and/or searching for information.
