Where as Gauss-based weaponry rapidly fires numerous shells to deter unwanted fighters, this system is used to repel missiles, torpedoes and even oncoming Linear Accelerator Ordinance. Capable of speeds that even the most top of the line Gauss cannon cannot match, the Laser was chosen for this singular task of repelling incoming fire. Sahaad PDLs utilizes a gimbal-mounted emitter comprised of a solid-state Neodymium-glass laser designed to project multiple beams. Due to being a multi-beam system it also features its own independent Gestalt Array and sensor suite giving it a level of accuracy as well as response time unheard of in past Sahaad PDW designs.
