The flashbang, a staple of law enforcement, military and sometimes security. Used to disable unprotected people, the flashbang works on two principals. It emits a brief burst of light upwards of 1.1 million candela in brightness along with a 180 decible 'bang'. The effects include, flash blindness, deafness, tinnitus, and inner ear disturbance that lasts around five to seven seconds before beginning to dissipate.

The grenade is of a canister style, by pushing the button on the top down the pin safety is released completing the circuit which begins the reaction. It is recommended the 'thrower' and any friendlies vacate the effective blast area to avoid the effects of the blast. Holes within and along the exterior of the grenade emit the light and sound.
