The Medium Charged Particle Accelerator Cannon is a series of powered frame-scale particle cannons designed to offer an analogue to the soldier's battle rifle, with a modest rate of fire and decent output for its size. The MCPA is neither a rapid-firing saturation weapon like the RCPA, nor does it have the singular striking power of the ACPA, but instead relies on being able to make continuous accurate shots at medium range. Particles are taken in by a siphon that gathers particles, before feeding them into a MASC-based linear accelerator. Although other particle weapons are known for 'splashing' on impact this effect is less prominent in the MCPA's discharge.
