A linear weapon is a weapon system that uses electromagnetic forces to accelerate solid projectiles to sublight velocities. Iromakuanhe linear weapons use chains of solenoids (magnetic coils) constructed from room temperature superconductors to propel a ferrous-cored or cased round. Simple linear rifles and chainguns fire low caliber rounds at velocities that can shred conventional tank armor with ease, while large caliber artillery pieces may feature particle thrust-based rocket-assisted aiming via vectored thrusters and/or verniers.
Iromakuanhe Linear weapons tend to have a muzzle velocity between 500 m/s to 23000 m/s and have ranges between 5 to 350 km.
