• Hair Color and Style: Ethan's hair color is a natural silver and reaches his neck. He also has a pair of rather expressive hair antennae.
• Ears: Ethan's ears are tipped, which signify his elven heritage.
• Build and Skin Color: Ethan has a compact, athletic build from years of training in order to be ready for the NSMC. The color of his skin is fair with a light tan.
• Eyes and Facial Features: While his original eyes were silver-grey, his cybernetic eyes are the same color. He also has a soft, feminine appearance. This has led some to some people during Ethan's youth to mistake him as a girl.
• Distinguishing Features: Gun-metal grey cybernetic arm and leg and facial scarring around the eyes. His cybernetic eyes light up green when activated, so the teen is seen wearing a black face mask that covers everything except for his mouth.

Before joining the military, Ethan was an easygoing individual with a carefree attitude. He still acts like this and will even be a smartass to his superiors despite the negative consequences. Despite this, he's as loyal as you can get to the Nepleslian Space Marine Corps. Although he won't just blindly follow orders like a fanatic would. The teen has a stubborn streak too. He doesn't like to see anything half done. Not only that, but he isn't the type of person to give up. Ethan doesn't like keeping secrets despite seeing the advantages of doing so. Even then, he tries to be honest whenever he can. Unless someone is torturing him for important information he might posses. Then he'd take that info to the grave if need be.

Ethan doesn't like to be isolated from others. He prefers to meet new people and make friends, but isn't so naive that he'll trust absolutely everybody. Even he can be suspicious if someone is…“off”. Not much can make him mad. He prefers it if someone has a grudge or some kind of issue with him, that person takes it up with him. But if someone tries to harm Ethan's family and friends to get to him, that's the breaking point. Another thing to note is that he's quick to come up with a witty comment in order to try and break the ice.

Pre-Roleplay

Ethan Hawkins was born into a moderately sized military family in Funky City. Both of his parents, James Hawkins and Syllia Thenala, served in the Nepleslia Space Marine Corps where they first met. He was the youngest of 4. Heather and Kali were the eldest while Jake was the middle kid. His eldest sister was in university and studying so she could enter the cut-throat corporate world. His second eldest sister joined the Nepleslian Star Navy as a fighter pilot while his brother joined the Nepleslian Space Marine Corps. He didn't know his father though. The man died during the Kennewes Offensive sometime after he was born.

For most of his childhood, the boy's mother would train him in hand to hand combat and marksmanship. When he turned 14, Jake was able to go on leave and visit the family. Heather took a week long vacation as well. Kali was unable to do so herself. The three siblings got into Heather's car and went to town. They went to the movies, tried some virtual reality games, and went shopping for a family meal with mom. On their way home, they ended up crossing through a gang war. They got rammed and a stray gunshot killed Jake. Heather died when the vehicle flipped over. The glass had shattered with some of it slashing up Ethan's eyes. He lost feeling in his left arm and leg. He passed out from the pain in the end.

The next time he woke up, Ethan was in the hospital. He went through surgery which replaced his eyes, right leg and arm with cybernetics. He also received a Machine Intelligence he calls Helena that would work with his cybernetics as an implant. After attending the funeral and months of therapy, Ethan then enlisted in the Space Marine Corps where he passed Boot Camp with flying colors.

• Combat Training - Ethan received hand to hand and melee combat training from his mother before joining the Space Marines. After enlisting, he got more advanced training in zero-g combat and can pilot power armor effectively. He's also been trained with most types of infantry weapons but is most comfortable with the M3's Designated Marksman Rifle variant.
• Communication - Ethan is familiar with basic radio operation and procedures and can make transmissions to and receive transmissions from other characters through headsets, ships, ground vehicles, power armor, and shuttles in both combat and non-combat conditions. He is fluent in Trade and is semi-fluent in Yamataigo. He can speak and write both correctly and efficiently and can write reports, fill forms, issue orders under fire, etc. Ethan is skilled in field communications and is proficient in all rudimentary forms of communication (hand signals, flashing lights, etc).
• Survival - Like most Nepleslian Marines, Ethan knows how to survive in most hostile environments. He can build shelters, hunt and forage for food, build a fire, etc. He can camouflage himself and is familiar with guerrilla warfare tactics.
