About the Templar
The Templar War Fist is a multi-purpose support equipment. Its primary purpose is to project large, sustainable Paladin Barriers to protect allies from incoming fire. Its secondary purpose is to overcome obstacles that might prevent an advance once the squad has a tactical advantage.
To this end, it has two main systems:
-
Shield: Takes the form of a tower-shield like barrier projected away from the Templar.
Wall: A large, semi-circular barrier projected three feet in front of the wearer.
Dome: A large, encompassing hemisphere centered on the wearer.
Plasma Fist:
The gauntlet portion of the Templar becomes encased in plasma energy. This energy can be discharged upon impact or maintained to create a cutting instrument.
The gauntlet itself provides additional grip strength to the wearer. This allows the wearer to crush tough objects with ease.
It also comes in one of three configurations that add additional functionality:
Helix Thruster
Pile Bunker
Deployable Tower Shield
The detachable tower shield is made of thick armor plating. On activation, its size increases and a mounting spike is forcefully launched into the ground, followed by a set of support struts. The shield can be reclaimed and reattached for later use. This shield contains its own Paladin system, which can supplement the Templar's barrier or be deployed independently.
The shield is attached by way of a set of powerful magnets. When the shield is detached, the magnets can be employed to attach the Templar (and its wearer) to other objects.
Its design allows it to be worn by a sufficiently strong individual on its own or as a supplement to existing power armor.

Appearance
The Templar War Fist is a oversized gauntlet attached to a long cylinder that covers the entire lower arm. Arranged around the cylinder are the various mechanics of each Templar configuration. All Templars hold either 10 S6-PC-1B "PowerPak"s or 10 Plasma Cores in the forward portion of the cylinder. These are visible from the outside of the Templar, but contained inside of a thick layer of transparent graphene. The Paladin Barrier System projector can be disengaged and slid forward for easy removal of any damaged or expended power units.
Helix Thruster Configuration
In the Helix Thruster configuration, a suitably sized Helix Plasma Engine is added to the rear of the Templar. Air intakes and other supporting parts are also present to support the thruster's operation.
Pile Bunker Configuration
In the Pile Bunker configuration, the thruster and air intakes are removed in favor of a large explosive-driven pile bunker. Shells are ejected after each use.
Deployable Shield Configuration
Forgoing the complicated mechanics on the gauntlet itself, the Deployable Shield configuration features a simple set of powerful electromagnets. The shield itself can be collapsed or expanded as necessary. Retractable spikes can lodge the shield into place if necessary.
