Star Army Pullover, Type 46

The Star Army pullover is a simple uniform top used by the Star Army of Yamatai. Unlike many other Star Army uniforms it doesn't contain a lot of technology, which makes it very inexpensive so it's great for issuing to large groups of trainees or clones. It's used for general duty, training in garrison, and on fleet starships and is associated with the Third Mishhuvurthyar War.

Price: 10 KS; multiple suppliers make it for the Star Army so sometimes there's a bit of variation in the design details and price.

In YE 44 the Star Army authorized use of regal blue sweaters as cold weather gear and received positive feedback. Based on this, the Star Army polled Star Army personnel in YE 46 and found that 75% of service members supported use of a Nepleslian-style blue pullover, similar to the YE 30 NSMC Standard Uniform used by the Nepleslian Space Marine Corps, as an optional class B uniform top. In response the Star Army added one to its list of uniform options. It was authorized by Taisho Ketsurui Yui¹⁾. The Fujiko Self-Defense Force also adopted a maroon version that year (the Type 46 Pullover).

Star Army pullovers are Star Army Regal Blue²⁾ in color and have a turtleneck collar (usually a ribbed design). There are jet black leather shoulders that provide extra toughness and cushioning for straps of backpacks and vests. They're fire-resistant.

There's 3 variations:

• Type 46: A traditional one with the pointed hem on the front (original)
• Type 46A: One where the hem is even all around like a typical sweater (most common, thicker material, good for cold weather)
• Type 46B: A bodysuit-style version that snaps at the crotch for a tucked-in look (popular with female soldiers).

These versions are available for any gender.

Pockets are authorized on the pullovers as long as they do not detract from the top's shape, function, or appearance. In practice this means sometimes there's some with pockets on the arms.

It is authorized to wear body armor and vests over this uniform such as the Traditional Flak Vest.

The pullover is worn with the Star Army Insignia Set, Type 41 on the right upper arm mid-way between the shoulder and the elbow.

Rank pins and/or enlisted rank patches are worn on it. In the case of pins, they are worn over the heart. Enlisted rank patches are worn on the left upper arm mid-way between the shoulder and the elbow. Officer wear fleet patches worn on the left upper arm. Pullovers may have unit or ship patches worn on the right upper shoulder as prescribed by the unit's commander.

The pullover is worn with be regal blue cargo pants (like the Star Army Duty Uniform, Type 42) or Star Army Cadet Blue cargo pants (like the Star Army Duty Uniform, Type 35).

The Star Army uses some kind of alien or synthetic leather that's not easily damaged by water or soap, so the pullover is mercifully washable in normal washing machines with standard Star Army Laundry Detergent and it's okay to run it through a normal dryer cycle as well and it won't shrink.
