Kohana Cloud

The Kohana Cloud (also known as the Fenyar Cloud) is a small nebula, approximately 1 light-year across at the extreme limits, located 10 light-years north west of Yamatai Star System. Tamahagane Corporation now holds the exclusive mining rights to the Kohana Cloud. It is named after Ketsurui Kohana.

The Kohana Cloud is composed of the remains of planet Kohana and gasses from the star of the same name, which destroyed the system when it went supernova in YE 26. Kohana (previously known by another name) was a forested world with ancient temples and a variety of furred sentient humanoids. The YSS Nozomi visited Kohana shortly before the planet was destroyed.

NovaCorp, a Yamataian ship-building company, purchased exclusive mining rights to the Kohana Cloud and the Hephaestus Fleet Yard clusters are based there. NovaCorp operated the old colony ship YSS Destiny which was overthrown and became the NSS Destiny in YE 28.

Tamahagane Corporation took possession of the area as part of the acquisition of NovaCorp in YE 34.
