UNN Uniforms

The United Norian Navy switched to a new uniform in YE 46.5 in anticipation for their move to the Kagami Galaxy. The uniforms are produced by Lux Aurora.

In YE 46.5, as plans to move the capital worlds to the Kagami Galaxy unfolded, Princess Aerum Eitan designed a new type of uniform to be suitable for their officers and soldiers. Departing from previous designs that utilized technology that would not work in their new home, she designed the UNN uniform to look like a more basic version of the Cholegam Combat Suit.

This uniform serves as the standard duty uniform in the United Norian Navy.

The shirt and pants of the uniform are designed to flow cohesively, be form fitting, and to appear deceptively as a single clothing item. (It gives an illusion of a bodysuit) They are black with teal accents and piping, and are made with a synthetic nanofiber ¹⁾ infused cotton-like material that has been reinforced with layers of L'ulorsha Weave (Type II) and synthetic nano-polymers. They are water and stain resistant, fire resistant and assist with thermal conductivity directing heat away from the body. The L'ulorsha Weave also provides resistance to puncture and can dissipate some low-level energy blasts. “UNN” in Trade (language) was added on a teal sash-like band that runs from the shoulder and across the body. Rank insignia²⁾ is always clipped to the right side of the high collar.

Norians don't require any added electronics in their uniform due to their sthibon symbiote connections to most of their technology.

Gloves are mostly worn on away missions and come in a standard and fingerless configuration. They are made with the same materials as the shirt and pants.

Officers have the option of wearing the L'ulorsha Weave (Type II) black cape with teal lining. The cape is considered to be a symbol of status and rank as it relates to the Aest Vyrdi (Royal Robe). The shoulders of the cape have the UNN logo (left), Ship Symbols, and their Ysi insignia(right). Often Imperials serving in the UNN will wear a customized cape denoting their elevated status.

Following the design of the rest of the uniform in looking unified, the boots are nano-polymer coated all black Vyl Vyr Boots that make a barely noticeable separation with the pants.

The UNN no longer supports wearing a hat with the military uniform. The only exception is that some uniforms can be ordered with a hood that can be drawn up to protect the soldier from the elements.

The belts are made of the same high-strength synthetic nano-polymers and L'ulorsha Weave (Type II) that reinforce and protect the uniform as well as the boots. A standard Quintessence Pulse Pistol holster is included, but often is switched out for an approved custom version.

The Cholegam Combat Suit is considered to be an acceptable duty uniform as an alternative.

The UNN does not have dress uniforms. It is expected that soldiers will wear the Maejaes Vyrdi or Aest Vyrdi representative of their Ysi to formal ceremonies and occasions. Often times medals and honors³⁾ ill be displayed on a sash that is placed over the robes. In most Ysi, military service is considered the most honorable occupation that a member can have.

At formal ceremonies the United Norian Navy permits the wear of the MERN/Continuum uniform that was utilized from YE 41 to YE 44.
