The Zaibatsu was formed on the Winter Solstice of the Yamatai calendar of YE 44. It oversees the corporate interests of the Shimizu Clan.
Under the direction of the Shimizu Clan headed by Princess Taisho Shimizu-Motoyoshi Akina (清水本吉明菜) (清水本吉明菜), the company was formed in YE 29 as Shimizu Advanced Space Industries. The primary focus of business was the Bard Cluster. A formal headquarters was being constructed on Taiie when the planet was destroyed by the advancing SMX forces. The Taiie Nebula is all that remains of the original plans which involved a formal celebration of power armor games to herald in the new complex.
In YE 30, the company relocated headquarters to a rented space in Kyoto. It began design and then production of equipment (mostly survival shelters) for the Star Army of Yamatai. The widely used military and civilian shelters became an ubiquitous item in most military and civilian spacecraft in the Empire.
After years of quietly making a few products, the company expanded further to include such branches as: research and development, engineering, information systems, and the prospective businesses.
On the Winter Solstice in YE 44, the Shimizuu Zaibatsu was created to oversee the expansion and rollout of a different range of products and services.
