Kena-rsi Dimensional Tap Reactors (KDTR) The primary power source on all 12th Generation Norian Starships, Small Craft and Power Armors. It became available in YE 46, it was also installed on 11th Generation assets as part of the outfitting for the SARPiverse.

Scalable Kena-rsi Dimensional Tap Reactors were designed for the 12th Generation, and refit for the 11th Generation of United Norian Navy equipment in YE 46. Due to the civil conflict caused by former Jol'Aester Sylix Lunari, they did not begin to be placed on 11th Generation assets until YE 46.9. These reactors allow for seamless transfer from Asune power to Aether power when a ship (or other equipment) transits from the Chrystalis Unvorsum to the SARPiverse. Due to the delay in this process, there were many 11th Generation starships that did not get the refit that escaped to Tsenlan after the invasion of Noria at the start of the Second Craethel War.1). Some of these ships due to damage and other conditions fell to critical reactor failures due to the older Moiteke reactor's tap system becoming jammed in the open position, leading to overload. The FCS/UNN A'aenalin was one of the first 12th Generation ships equipped with the new more reliable system.
The reactor's design relies upon dimensional tap technology which the Norians have relied on since YE 25, at the start of the Umarian Wars. Over the years, they have developed more efficient and scalable designs to fit all kinds of equipment. In YE 44 during the Arrival of the Norians, it was discovered that asune energy could not be tapped in the SARPiverse which resulted in the adaptation of the system to handle Aether energy instead. This design change was relatively minor due to the understanding of the tap technology that already existed. The first model of the DTRs were the Moiteke series of reactors which required a manual vent of asune plasma from the reactor chamber prior to the change over. This created a momentary delay in power system restoration post transuniversal trip. In YE 46.9, this design was improved with the development of the Kena-rsi Dimensional Tap Reactors (KDTR), which automated the process, and due to a stronger reactor chamber lining was able to switch from Asune to Aether seamlessly without the need for the plasma purge. The Keg'sta Heat Management Device tends to be a common in-line device with the KDTR units.
Most assets that use the KDTR, also have integrated capacitor systems. During normal operation the capacitor system is charged for standard ship-wide system consumption for up to 24 hours, which at 20% charge opens the Dimensional Tap Reactors for recharge. There is a secondary capacitor system which has 48 hours of reduced operational capacity during emergency situations. During “Silent Running” operations the Dimensional Tap System is shutdown to reduce the ship's profile on aetheric/dimensional scanners. In combat all the Dimensional Tap Reactors and the primary capacitor system are utilized to power offensive and defensive systems.
Daily during the Dimensional Tap “OFF” mode, the reactor chamber of each reactor is cleaned to remove any debris that could disrupt proper operation. Weekly the Capacitor Assembly is purged of all stored power, and given diagnostics to ensure proper operation. Monthly the Secondary Capacitor is purged as well. Yearly capacitor coils and chamber wall shielding should be replaced or rebuilt according to ship or other asset's specifications. Every fifty years the entire Reactor System should be rebuilt.
The dimensional tap reactor can vary in size from that of a small box, to the large designed to power starships. In general the reactor has a sleek, metallic cylindrical design, segmented into several intricately connected Niranium (Reinforced) rings with polished grey and chrome finishes. Each segment is highlighted by glowing blue energy cores, radiating through translucent panels and grooves.
