The Motoyoshi Bakufu was formed in late YE 29, it served as the ruling body of the motoyoshi_clan until ketsurui-motoyoshi_katsuko became Empress of the Yamatai Star Empire in YE 30. Under the influence of Tange Misato and motoyoshi_kiyoko some members of this organization committed treason and were involved in the formation of the short-lived separatist nation of the United Outer Colonies.
In YE 42, ketsurui-motoyoshi_katsuko formed a reformed Motoyoshi Bakufu or “New Motoyoshi Bakufu” to provide leadership to the United motoyoshi_clan. She was quick to take measures to ensure that the new body consisted of those who remained loyal to her and that the past would never repeat itself. She bound the reformed council to the traditions_and_philosophies with strict adherence to their loyalty to the Yamatai Star Empire.
In YE 41, ketsurui-motoyoshi_katsuko successfully reunited the motoyoshi_clan. She returned to the Jiyuu System with the rest of her brothers and sisters to re-establish the First Expeditionary Fleet and the motoyoshi_clan in the Outer Colonies of the Yamatai Star Empire.
In preparation for the planned establishment of a new Bakufu, ketsurui-motoyoshi_katsuko had the plans for the original Bakufu Council Facility passed to the yugumo_corporation which built the complex under the Fuji Hotel in Atarashi Tokyo.
In YE 42, the motoyoshi_clan was summoned to a meeting at the new council site and the “New Motoyoshi Bakufu” was established.

In YE 41 when ketsurui-motoyoshi_katsuko reunited the clan, the tributaries showed their unity by dropping their tributary names all of which took the Motoyoshi name.
