The Quintessence Pulse Pistol (QPP) has been the standard sidearm of the the Norian armed forces since YE 25. The current model, produced by Lux Aurora, is the LA-W1-3A.¹⁾

A legacy product of the Myrmidon Corporation (defunct) designed in YE 25 by Severce Eitan for use in the Umarian War by the Norian Continuum Navy. The design was proven effective and has remained in service as part of the standard issue of the United Norian Navy and the Free Commonwealth of Vespan Navy. Two major design changes, one in YE 35 and YE 46 accommodated improvements to the capacitor cartridges, addition of the biometric trigger, and other modernization improvements. In the YE 46 version, there was a change in the emitter system and the removal of exotic-particle(voidtech) technology to better accommodate forces moving into the Kagami Galaxy.

The Quintessence Pulse Pistol is designed to fit comfortably in the average Norian hand. The grip is made of a textured polymer designed to not conduct any residual heat from the weapon's capacitor cartridges that slide into bottom of the grip. It comes standard in U.N.N black and teal, with illuminated readouts of discharge information, cartridge charge, and biometric confirmation codes on the rear teal panel. Fire-mode selection is done via touch-sensitive sliding line on the rear-most surface of the weapon. The case is made out of black lorenzium alloy, and is relatively light for ease of utilization.⁴⁾

The FCSN version created by Krysis Corporation comes in white and pink but, has the same basic functional design with a slightly different shape.

Both the UNN and FSCN version of the weapon have three basic fire modes. When a cartridge is depleted, it will pop into a ready-to-remove position to decrease the reload time.

Stun Mode:

• Muzzle Flash: Small spherical flash of light around emitter the same color as the pulse.
• Retort: A soft, buzzing pulse as surrounding air is heated and ionized

Lethal Mode:

• Muzzle Flash: Small spherical flash of light around emitter the same color as the pulse.
• Retort: A loud, crackling pulse as surrounding air is ionized and heated to plasma states

Cutter Mode:

• This mode serves as a quick plasma cutting tool for accessing lightly armored panels, doors and other small structures.

• Retort: The sound similar to a blow torch
• Appearance: Bright Blue Sustained 4 inch plasmatic flame
• Effective Range: 4 inches
• Rate of Fire: Continuous (Maximum use 10 minutes/cartridge)

The trigger is coated with a sensor material that is process by a simple internalized chip that verifies the user's biometric signature. This allows easy tracking of who discharged the weapon. Non-Norian signatures are not accepted and cause the gun to become disabled.

The QPP utilizes rechargeable 24mm x 63mm capacitor cartridges.
