Type 46 Kepi

The Type 46 Kepi is a headgear used by the Nepleslian Reds beginning in YE 46.

The Type 46 Kepi costs 25 KS and is available from Fujiko Development Corporation Supply Stores.

Elements of the Type 46 Kepi were designed in early YE 43 as part of an effort to standardize the headgear for all personnel within the Nepleslian Reds. It was believed by leadership at the time that the Reds were starting to lose their way in thinking the Democratic Imperium of Nepleslia was the number 1 enemy. When the Reds' coup occurred in YE 44, development of the cap and various uniforms (such as the Type 46 Forage Cap) ended. With the establishment of the Fujiko Self-Defense Force (or FSDF), development resumed at Nepleslian Research and Manufacturing.

The Type 46 Kepi features a structured, slightly rounded crown made from a durable blend of cotton and synthetic fibers, ensuring the cap maintains its shape while providing comfort. The short, stiff brim offers practical eye protection from sunlight. Encircling the base of the crown is a horizontal band that adds a touch of formality and enhances the cap’s structure. The side panels, extending from the brim to the back, help to maintain the cap’s form, while a top seam along the crown provides extra durability.

Inside the cap, there is a small tag with a Nepleslian Reds Equipment Label that indicates when and where the cap was made, as well as the cap's size. On the reverse side, it has laundry care instructions. The Kepi retains its shape well even after being stuffed in a duffel bag or cargo pocket.

The cap is primarily available in fujiko onyx (hexcode #404040), lupin black (hex code #1a1b1d) and with fujiko white (hex code ##edecec) stripes. Though alternative color schemes are planned.

The Type 46 Kepi is part of the standard uniform for all FDC Security Directorate (FSDF, FGC, and Fujiko Rangers) personnel. It is worn straight on the head, with the brim just above the eyebrows and the stripes should be centered and aligned vertically with the individual's nose.

To clean the cap, it should be hand-washed with mild detergent and air-dried to maintain its shape and integrity. It is recommended to avoid machine washing and drying, as these can damage the cap’s structure and materials.
