The Kennewes Offensive was a PvP event that mostly concerned player ships rather than single player characters. The event covered the events leading up to the Nepleslian Star Army’s 1st Assault Fleet’s attack on Kennewes and the Red Fleet’s defense of the planet.
Under Yamataian rule, Democratic Imperium of Nepleslia has traditionally been fractured between a variety of warring factions such as the Nepleslian Reds, Greens, Black Syndicate, ect. Its independence in the year YE 28 changed the very nature of the ongoing conflict, eventually seeing the Green Faction’s rise to dominance during the street war campaign taking place in YE 29. The Green Faction only has one major rival left, the Red Faction, which has openly declared war against the greens and launched several attacks which were quickly thwarted by the Green’s superior military, aided by the NDI.
In late YE 29 the Nepleslian First Assault Fleet was constructed and tasked with the capture of the planet Kennewes, the only red stronghold. It is projected by both sides that a loss here would be crippling to their ongoing war efforts. A loss by the Greens could cause a shattering of public faith in their administration, allowing other smaller factions to again rise up while a loss by the reds could very well lead to the end of their faction.
