IIS "Immovable Rod" Restraints

The “Immovable Rod” is a set of restraints made by Iemochi Innovations & Sales. It utilises ADNR or other materials to restrain, along with inertial dampeners to prevent the target from moving sporadically. It can also be set to anchor the target in place entirely by the restraints. This is done by utilising directional microthrusters to cancel out movement by the target.

History

The “Immovable Rod” was designed in YE 44 by Iemochi Innovations & Sales. It was finally finished after several year of being mothballed since Iemochi Feyani put in the request while part of the Star Army Military Police. While the original material was ADNR versions made of different materials were eventually made depending on the metal that the purchaser could provide the manufacturer with.

About the "Immovable Rod"

The “Immovable Rod” uses microthruster technology in conjunction with very robust materials to increase the effectiveness of handcuffs and leg restraints. If used on the hands and legs, they can be connected together to increase the effectiveness of the restraints. They are locked and released by biometric print - the same applies to the inertial dampeners. The two loops of each set are conjoined by a telescopic bar which can be widened before locking, as can the loops. The biometric reader block features a small (24 hour) battery which wirelessly charges inside most buildings and bases. This also powers the in-built gravimetric thrusters.

Appearance

The “Immovable Rod” comes in all-black, all-silver, all-neon-pink and all-neon-orange. It has telescopic joints which appear as ridges on the cuffs and rod between them. On the separating rod, there is a biometrics scanner which is designed for a finger press. When in storage mode, the cuffs resemble just the fingerprint scanner with two thumb loops at either end.

Usage

The device in storage mode is essentially just the biometric scanner with two small thumb loops on either end. The biometric scanner is used to unlock the restraints. The loops are then pulled so that the telescopic mechanisms engage and expand out, with the rod between them also expanding out. The loops are then put over the wrists or ankles of the prisoner so that they are tight and behind their back, or so that their legs are hobbled by the rod. The scanner is then used again, which locks the telescopics in place so that they can't be adjusted.

By pressing a button on the bottom of the scanner while scanning, the inertial dampening is activated or deactivated. If the button is held down, it will cycle up in settings with an audible beep. This utilises the inbuilt microthrusters and accelerometers to cancel out any sudden movements on the lowest setting, or cancel out any movement whatsover on the hightest. This highest setting can be used to anchor its targets in specific spacial positions as if the restraints were secured to a wall.
