Sakura Type 43 200mm Heavy Railgun

The Sakura Type 43 200mm Heavy Railgun is designed as a mecha handheld weapon designed for orbital bombardment and fires missions that do not require high mobility. The Ke-D7-W3200 Mass Driver Gun served as an inspiration for the weapon and a variant is used with the M19 Ryoko Mecha. The weapon was developed by Sakura Machinery in YE 42 and given its nomenclature in YE 43.

Useful as both an artillery piece and an anti-mecha/fighter weapon, the Type 43 200mm Heavy Railgun is the weapon for those on a budget.

The Type 200mm Heavy Railgun came about due to Ryu Keiretsu's desire to develop their own frame designs or at the very least break into the frame armament market. Sakura Machinery, already having helped created much of the initial weaponry for the M19 Ryoko Mecha with Star Army Research Administration, decided to adapt the non-classified portions of those designs and redevelop them for the civilian market due to the simplicity of the technologies.

In YE 45, the 200mm Heavy Railgun was modified to be used as rapid-fire shipborne weaponry on the Drake Class Heavy Corvette.

The 200mm Heavy Railgun is a long weapon that resembles a recoilles rifle with additional equipment at the back for storing and loading rounds into the railgun. At the end of the weapon, is the firing assembly, autoloader, and box magazine underneath it. The whole weapon is made with Durandium Alloy and usually colored black.

• Muzzle Flash: Reddish-purple plasma that dissipates quickly.
• Retort: Very loud and deep thunderclaps.
• Projectile/Beam Appearance: Normally not visible to the average eye. High-speed cameras will see the round as if unfired.
• Effective Range: 150 km (atmospheric)
• Rate of Fire: 5 rounds per minute (handheld)/60 rounds per minute (shipborne)
• Recoil: Very Heavy, shakes the whole mecha when used within an atmosphere.

• Firing Mechanism: The round within the weapon is programmed on when to explode. The capacitors are then discharged and the electromagnetic rails are activated, the sabot is vaporized, and then the round is accelerated out. The weapon's autoloader then reaches into the magazine, activates a magnet to grasp a new round, and then loads it into the breech of the weapon. The round is then activated (if not kinetic) and waits for programming.
• Loading: Rounds from the magazine is autoloaded into the breech of the weapon.
• Mode Selector: Toggled by the mecha's computer.
• Firing Modes: Toggled by the mecha's computer.
• Safety Mechanism: Toggled by the mecha's computer.
• Weapon Sight: Linked to the mecha's targeting computer.

In either its handheld or ship-mounted configuration, the Type 43 200mm Heavy Railgun costs 5,500 KS.
