Developed by Nepleslian Research and Manufacturing, it was introduced in YE 46 as a response to the increasing need for modern field-deployable, multifunctional medical equipment that could operate in diverse environments, including on battlefields. In true Red fashion, the NRM copied much of the functionality of the medispecrtra from salvaged Portable Medical Scanner PMS-1M from the Second Mishhuvurthyar War era. The first prototypes were issued to the 1st Fujiko Expeditionary Unit for testing in the deserts of Planet Osman in late YE 46²⁾.

The “Medispectra” Scanner boasts a sleek, ergonomic design optimized for handheld use. Its dimensions are approximately 20 cm in length, 7 cm in width, and 5 cm in depth, making it highly portable. The casing is typically a matte black with minimal reflective surfaces to maintain a low profile during operations.
