Sakurai Mizuki has a toned but slender build and soft tannish skin. Her dark brown eyes are framed by her thick shoulder-length hair. Compared to the average female soldier within the Star Army of Yamatai, she is not the most attractive woman.

Personality: Sakurai Mizuki is cool, scholarly, and thorough. She would rather not dwell on the things that don't matter, especially when it comes to her body, which often involves much personal grooming and constantly maintaining her toned physique. Though a diligent learner she prefers to live and work in the world of the strongest fighters. She does not automatically trust those in authority, but still follows lawful orders regardless of her distrust.

Another personality quirk of hers is she can keep a smile on her face even during stressful situations, especially those involving her ship. This has helped those around her maintain an acceptable level of cool-headedness as well. Though others think she is just simply crazy.

Born in YE 14 on the onset of the 2nd Elysian War, Sakurai Mizuki's childhood has always been one of war. Her parents were killed by Elysians when they were on a business trip to Geshrinopolis. Afterward, she was raised by her grandparents in the mountains. Martial artists and Shinto priests that Mizumitsu Samurai journeymen and women often traveled to during their travels. She came to respect the samurai, holding an internal grudge that she is incapable of joining their ranks as a human.

Mizuki in YE 33 was a Miko and practitioner of Sora Mei who was debating to become a full Shinto priestess or not. While her grandparents were of the more militant nature of the religion, they were against Mizuki taking a more martial focus. That changed when the NMX came too close for comfort during the Battle of Yamatai. Gaining their blessing, at last, she enlisted into the Star Army of Yamatai and upgraded to a NH-29 body.

Assigned to Legion I, Mizuki served under numerous centurions as an infantrywoman. Her time under them, some good/some bad, would serve to shape her views of what a leader should be. Finally having enough, she decided (successfully) to jump from the NCO path to the commissioned officer path in YE 37 by completing the Kyoto War College extension program. She received her first Centurion position in Legion XX in YE 39. Later she received fleet training in YE 41 to become a XO of a Kagai Assault Ship.

Mizuki was promoted to Shosa in YE 42 and given command of the newly re-commissioned YSS Yukikaze. Mizuki made her return to the Star Army Rikugun two years later, being assigned to the 1st Rikugun Test and Evaluation Battalion in command of the YSS Tengu. She made effective usage of the “Mercy” Transport Modules designed for the ship (a Nuwa Class Multipurpose Frigate) during Operation Fireplace where she was capable of carrying vast quantities of Norians for a ship of its size. During the operation she was reunited with Mikael Harris, a former centurion of the Giretsu Century of the 75th Legion once embarked on her old ship. After the evaluation and decommissioning of the YSS Tengu, Mizuki was reassigned as the operations officer for the 75th Legion of the 1st Expeditionary Area Army.

Sakurai Mizuki has the following skills:

• Communication: Sakurai Mizuki is familiar with basic radio operation and procedures and can make transmissions to and receive transmissions from other characters through headsets, starships, power armor, and shuttles in both combat and non-combat conditions. Your character is fluent in Trade (language) and Yamataigo (邪馬台語). She can speak and write both correctly and efficiently and can write reports, fill forms, issue orders under fire, etc.
• Fighting: Sakurai Mizuki received hand-to-hand combat training, followed up with a rigorous training program. She is skilled and experienced in combat both in Yamatai-like conditions and in zero-gravity, with and without weapons. Weapons she is trained in include energy pistols, knives, and power armor. • Humanities: As an officer, Sakurai Mizuki is proficient in diplomacy. She has a basic understanding of psychology gained largely from constantly sparring against other people. Lastly, she is well versed in the beliefs of Shintoism due to her upbringing and being a Miko.
• Knowledge: Sakurai Mizuki is familiar with most regulations of the Yamatai Star Empire and knows how to research to discover ones she does not. She is well versed in Mizumitsu samurai and Shinto history.
• Leadership: Sakurai Mizuki is a reasonable public speaker.
