Atae is an attractive, young adult male Norian, who shares many facial features with a young Tetsuya.

• Typical of Norian physiology, Atae has an athletic, lithely-muscled body that is maintained with daily exercise. Biologically twenty, he stands 184cm (6ft) tall and weighs 68 kilograms (150 lbs) in a 1G environment.

• Atae has healthy, smooth pale white skin with the barest hint of a pinkish rose-water hue. He has no body hair aside from that on his head. His hands are a third again longer than ‘human norm’, with four knuckles to each finger. Due to his herbivorous nature, Atae’s teeth are wide and flat. A Sthibon Symbiote was introduced to his body at birth.

• He possesses almond-shaped eyes, of a pale crystal blue with a bright silver stream-type of iris pattern - so much so that they are often mistaken for being silver altogether. Atae has silvery-white, platinum blonde hair that he used to keep in a short, military cut. Since the news of his father’s death, he has vowed to leave it to grow out and not cut it short again until justice has been brought to those responsible. Atae has slender, elongated ears with rounded points.

• Atae has a rich, baryton-noble, baritone voice. His natural musk has hints of amber, Dar-achosash, cardamom, sandalwood and vanilla. When not required to wear a uniform, Atae prefers to wear traditional Norian robes, made from synthetic fabrics, of vibrant colour and design.

• Naturally observant, imaginative and hands-on, Atae enjoys interacting with his environment and turning his observations into practical solutions. He is generally able to think on his feet and go with the flow of things around him. Atae values direct and honest communication, not seeing the value in obfuscating intentions or opinions to spare the sensibilities of others. He is self-reliant and has a preference to undertake tasks alone where practical to do so. Atae also tends to stay focused in the present, not losing himself to worrying about the future or regretting the past.

• Due to his preference for direct and honest communication, Atae can easily come across as unapologetic and insensitive to those he disagrees with. He tends to keep his private life private and can come across as hard-to-get-close-to or excessively reserved. With an active, observant mind, Atae can become easily bored without sufficient stimulation or challenge. Being independent-minded, he can find it hard to keep to schedules imposed upon him by others, especially if there is something else he would rather be doing. Atae also tends to be highly sceptical when presented with a lack of evidence to support a particular point of view. This can lead to him valuing an impersonal/objective truth much more than a personal/subjective one.

Atae Eitan was born in YE 31 to Tetsuya and Katara Eitan.

• With the Void Wars being an ongoing concern for his parents, the decision was made to accelerate Atae’s natural growth through genetic engineering. The primary result of this was that he underwent seven years of biological growth during the first two years of his life. Careful mental stimulus via the Sthibon Symbiote ensured that Atae’s mind grew at a similar pace. Also, deliberate exposure to the emotions and love of his family via Vesper Link ensured he wasn’t emotionally stunted during this time.

• Between his accelerated growth, lineage and the social ramifications of the ongoing Void Wars, Atae had few friends or contacts beyond other children of the Caeyara/Eitan Ysi. This contributed to an early development of independence and self-drive as Atae covered the lacking socialisation with the pursuit of nathaul.

• Following conversations with members of his Ysi, including his sister-in-law, Naika Eitan, Atae chose to focus his studies on economics, finance and statistical analysis. Through the Norian Defence Education School, he achieved a bachelor’s degree in Finance while, with special dispensation for his age, Atae also underwent basic military training and then officer candidate school with the United Norian Navy.

• After a tour of duty with Logistical Command, Atae was invited to apply to the Yaducath Intelligence Agency. Thanks to his education and logistics experience, he took well to the work, developing a specialisation in financial analysis and the tracking of the movements of personnel and material. Atae also received training in the basic fieldcraft skills of an intelligence operative.

• Shortly before the death of Tetsuya, Atae received an unusual assignment that required him to travel to Solitude.

In late YE 46, Atae joined the crew of the The Alyelume, under the command of Adrin Eitan where he undertook duties as an Intelligence Officer.
