Chibi Commissions Project

The Chibi Communications Project is an art-creation plan by Wes with the mission of providing character art for all player characters and important NPCs on Star Army through commissions of art.

History

The First Commissions Project was started with the lofty goal of illustrating all of SARP's characters but was only feasible with regular donations and Zairyo's rock-bottom prices. After Wes's money dried up and Zairyo went on a hiatus, lack of funds slowed the project to a halt.

That's when Wes discovered that chibi-style artwork was really inexpensive. After conducting a search of DeviantArt, 4 artists were selected for the original batch of chibis. However only two of them produced artwork he considered worthwhile for Star Army. These artists were Ichan-01 and Nicoy. Ichan was selected for Yamatai and Abwheran art and Nicoy does art for Neplelsia and the Iromakuanhe.

Chibis were originally commissioned by plots. The plots with the highest Roleplay Reviews scores got art first. Now, but since most plots already have chibi art, art is commissioned based on who posts in the Chibi Art Request Thread.

In order to simplify the process of ordering character art, the Star Army Duty Uniform, Type 35 was created. See the Chibi Art Gallery for the Type 32 Coat.
