The Z1 series torpedoes are a new breed of lightweight torpedoes for use by the Star Army of Yamatai. Although slower than the AS-7 Series Torpedo series, the Z1 is highly miniaturized (only 2.25 meters long and 0.50 meters wide), allowing ships to store large numbers of them or to dedicate more space to other functions. Z1 torpedoes also include a quick-swap capability that allows various warheads to be placed on the common base.
The Ke-Z1 Series Anti-Starship Torpedoes were designed in YE 30 for use in YE 31.

The torpedoes use a small Continuum Distortion Drive that propels the torpedo at 12 times the speed of light (3c in a Level 3 Anti-FTL Field and .75c in a Level 4+).
Note: Torpedoes must drop out of FTL prior to making their attack.
