Standard General Assault Rifle

The Standard General Assault Rifle is a lightweight, high-powered assault rifle made by Origin. Due to its nomenclature (SGAR), the rifle has been dubbed the 'Sugar' rifle by its users. The SGAR was removed from production in YE 37, but it is still widely available on the used market.

History

The Standard General Assault Rifle, or SGAR, was designed by Rob Robertson III to be both functional and aesthetically pleasing. Concieved near the end of YE 30, it would not be completed until YE 31, as there was trouble getting the focusing lenses to handle properly under the amount of energy passed through them to form the laser beam, but eventually a suitable design and material was found, allowing the energy to be focused into a sufficiently cohesive beam without melting or charring.

Discharge Information

High powered focused energy pulse In the form of a Laser beam pulse. This focused beam does damage by flash-superheating anything it comes into contact with, which can often result in small explosions as materials turn from the solid or liquid state into the gaseous state.

Firing Mechanism

Upon pulling the trigger, energy is drawn from the battery and focused through a series of lenses to produce a Laser beam pulse.
