Origin Mini-missile Pod

Origin's Mini-missile pods are a new take on an old design, first made in YE 31.

Origin's Mini-Missile Pod is a mid-sized weapon capable of holding a large number of various types of short ranged soda-can sized missiles. A variety of missile types are available to be used for various purposes.

The Mini-missile Pod is a two meter long, .55 meter diameter tube, with a tapered front end and a rounded back end. The front end has 10 tubes, each capable of holding 10 of mini-missiles, giving the pod a total of 100 mini-missiles. The pod can be painted in any color to match the craft that it is being mounted on.

• Muzzle Flash: a small bright flash from the rocket can be seen upon firing.
• Retort: In atmosphere, a pop followed by the fizzle of a rocket motor can be heard.
• Projectile Appearance: Soda-can sized rocket with a pointed front end.
• Effective Range: 50 Km Atmosphere, 250,000 kilometers in space.
• Rate of Fire: computer-controlled, up to 100 RPS
• Recoil: little to none felt.

• Purpose: Light to medium anti-armor
• Round Capacity: Up to 100 Mini-missiles can be loaded at a time

• Firing Mechanism: Electronically controlled fuses, controlled by contact rings in the tube.
• Loading: Slide new Mini-missiles into the tube from the front. Can be pushed in with a loading rod or pushed in by the next round.
• Mode Selector: Computer controlled by the vehicle it is mounted to
• Firing Modes: Computer controlled select-fire, single or volley
• Safety Mechanism: A switch in the pod body cuts off power to prevent unwanted firing. The switch can be actuated by the computer of the craft the pod is mounted to.
• Weapon Sight: None, or self-guided.
