Being an officer is supposed to have its perks-good pay, better food, and better accommodations. Well in an attempt to try and provide the latter most perk, in YE 44 the Standardized Officer's Quarters was created to provide the company's CO's with a less “Fart-Hotbox-y” room aboard a company vessel-a slightly bigger set of amenities, albeit designed to be collapsible to cut down on space usage and a private computer terminal for work and personal use.
While not the most comfortable, it is at least private, and the climate control works well enough that occupant won't freeze or roast.
The Model 44 Standardized Officer's Quarters serve as the private quarters of the Iron Company's COs; providing a bathroom, shower, bunk, and desk. All of these save for the bunk is collapsible and the terminal is built directly into the desk and pops out. The quarters are made up of reinforced steel with the bed being a thick piece of foam with a polymer coating. It also has a similar life support system and anti-spall lining that the Crew Barracks does.
As of YE 46 an update was made to further increase crew comfort-and therefore improve morale, such as improvements in the bed and climate controls, but otherwise remains as spartan and utilitarian as ever.
The Model 44 is like all Company quarters and internal structures appear as a utilitarian metal box with amenities and the standard gray-black carpet with harsh overhead lights.
