Stinger Chemical Shell

The Ammunition for the Stinger Chemical Laser Shell is a solid, chemical-filled ammunition for the Stinger Chemical Laser Rifle.

History and Background

The Stinger Chemical Shell was designed as a fully vaporizable shell for use with the Stinger Chemical Laser Rifle. Initial prototypes were made up of a brass casing filled with a toxic chemical mixture of chlorine, iodine, potassium, and sodium hydroxides, ammonia, and hydrogen peroxide, but was later changed to a specially formulated chemical shell designed to vaporize during the lasing process. The mixture for the shell is supposedly a closely guarded secret-though more likely than not no one's really bothered looking into it.

It should be noted that handling the ammunition without proper protection-at least chemical gloves, goggles or a hard suit could result in inadvertent poisoning.

General Information

The Stinger Ammo while being of similar “caliber” as the Thunderer Ammunition, thought isn't quite as heavy and requires special care when handling.

The “Round” upon impact is every bit as bloody and as vicious as a solid slug weapon when used against organic target-boring through the point of contact and flash-boiling any liquid on the other side. This usually results in blood vessels rupturing, flesh ripping around the point of contact, and bone melting. Against mechanical targets the point of contact results in the material being vaporized and turned into plasma and/or slag-usually resulting in a spray of liquid metal against vehicles or power-armored opponents with predictable results. Nothing like having the equivalent of a small bomb go off in your face, huh?
