1st Fujiko Expeditionary Unit

Formed in YE 45, the 1st Fujiko Expeditionary Unit (1st FEU) is one of the first official units created by Fujiko Development Corporation's Fujiko Self-Defense Force. Tasked with gaining active combat experience and condensing those into lessons for the rest of the Self-Defense Force as a rapid-response force. They deploy outside of the Fujiko Region as part of humanitarian aid efforts and to defend FDC members located on foreign worlds.

The motto of the unit is “Pioneers in Peace and War”.

The Star Army Rikugun announced the formation of Rikugun Legion Command Groups at the same time the FDC formally established the Fujiko Self-Defense Force. While the manpower component was not the issue for the Reds due to their cloning expertise, properly equipping them to function as a local defense force introduced a number of uncertainties when it came to their equipment. To remedy this, it was decided to create a rapid response unit modeled off of the Legion Command Groups.

Formally established as the 1st Fujiko Expeditionary Unit, as of YE 45.7 it is the only unit that fully equipped with the prototype vehicle designs meant to equip the full force. In late YE 45, in a ploy to gain both real world combat experience and to clean up the reputation of the Nepleslian Reds, the FDC committed the 1st FEU to Shasta No Sekai's S.O.S. Coalition during the Liberation of Osman.

Alpha Company, 1st Expeditionary Battalion were among the first of the coalition's forces to be deployed to the surface of the planet ²⁾. It was not without loses, seeing command of the company switching to former NMX neko serving as XO after the death of the company's first commander. Jacobstown was captured within 2 days after the start of the liberation campaign.

Designed to be a rapid-deployment force to respond to both hostile actions and to provide humanitarian aid, the 1st Expeditionary Unit is a Regiment sized element that consists of a HQ Group that provides operational control of the joint assets, a combined arms battalion and detachments acting as the Ground Group, an Aerospace Group to provide air support/transportation, and a Logistics Group to keep all everything running and supplied.

Tasked with operational control of the Expeditionary Battalion, the 1st FEU's Command Element also contains combat support personnel needed for successful operations.

Containing the leadership and operations planning of the 1st FEU.

Essentially a reinforced FSDF Combined Arms Battalion, the 1st Expeditionary Battalion is the maneuver element of the 1st FEU.

The Headquarters and Service Company (HSC) is the core administrative and command control hub for the 1st Expeditionary Battalion. It ensures that all sub-units function in harmony and provides a centralized location for coordination. Subordinate units beyond the HQ section are the scout sniper platoon, communications, service, and medical platoons.

The HQ Platoon is the nerve center of the 1st Expeditionary Battalion, overseeing vital functions such as personnel management, intelligence gathering, and logistical support.

The Scout Sniper Platoon specializes in reconnaissance and precision engagement.

The Communications and Sensors Platoon ensures robust and secure communications across the battalion.

The Service Support Platoon manages logistical support and transportation for the battalion. It is divided into Motor Transport, Logistics, and Food Service Sections, each critical for sustaining operational capabilities. This platoon ensures efficient supply chain management, vehicle operation, and food services, underpinning the battalion's operational endurance.

The Medical Platoon is pivotal for the health and welfare of battalion personnel. It operates the Battalion Aid Station and a Casevac Section, with medics and support staff ready for immediate response. This platoon is essential for medical treatment, evacuation procedures, and maintaining the fighting strength of the battalion.

Charlie Company according to the standard Combined Arms Battalion should be an armored formation, but the additional infantry was deemed better for the mission of the FEU.

Mechanized Combat Engineers, the Engineer Platoon is cross-trained with the Expeditionary Battalion.

A composite formation, the 64th Combat Aviation Battalion makes use of both aerial craft and aerospace dropships to support the actions of the FEU.

Alpha and Brave provides air superiority and ground support for the 1st FEU. Equipped with Corona Gunships, they can swiftly strike key enemy positions and transport troops around the battlefield.

The Mizumoto Class Frontier Development Vessel transports vehicles, supplies, and personnel that are transferred over to Nuwa Class Multipurpose Frigates configured as landing ships. A pair of Mogami Class Light Cruisers and additional Nuwas provide force protection.

The Mizumoto's facilities can be used to support any humanitarian efforts the 1st FEU has been deployed to.

Between the 4 Nuwa Class Multipurpose Frigates and Crane Dropships, the 1st FEU uses the following scheme for deployment:

• Alpha Nuwa carries the 1st Command Element and part of the 1st Expeditionary Battalion.
• Bravo Nuwa carries the rest of the 1st Expeditionary Battalion.
• Charlie Nuwa carries Combat Logistics Battalion 1.
• Delta Nuwa carries the 64th Combat Aviation Battalion's Coronas.
• All Cranes carry excess personnel of each elements, prioritizing the Command and Combat elements in the first sortie.
