Ragnar Halfdan Stands at 6'4“ and weighs 240lbs, an intimidating and strong built figure as there is no ounce of fat on him. He has a rather pale skin tone that makes his blue/grey eyes seem more intimidating. He keeps his dark brown hair in a short Mohawk and his facial hair is a stubble length mustache/mutton chop combination that he only shaves once his superiors complain about it. People often first notice a set of rune and symbol tattoos on either side of his head leading down the side of his neck and below the collar of his uniform; each representing something about his home, career, or memorable event even though he won't discuss them.

Ragnar is a quiet man, easily annoyed, and quick to shout and gripe. He insists that he is griping and not complaining, as griping is done while working and is professional. Most often he is aloof and prefers to be left alone when not working. This stems from a concern of getting too close to people, though the soft and concerned look he gets in his eyes when working on a patient reveal a deeply caring man. Once he considers someone a friend and comrade, he can be as loud and rowdy as anyone. It however takes a while for such a bond to build, and until such a time people can expect comments about their intelligence and gripes about the workload they leave for him.

Ragnar was born to a mining family and lived a content life until an accident had taken his father from him when he was still a young boy. Determined to take care of his family and hopefully prevent that kind of pain from affecting others, he chose to enlist in the Star Army of Yamatai. Once he enlisted and began basic training, he was slated for space infantry or another combat heavy group based on his build and disposition which even with his new body remained sizable and intimidating. This did not sit well with Ragnar, who was determined to join the medical field. Throughout the entire of Basic training he had pushed and pushed for a medical slot and was given a chance to become a medic. During the training as a medic he found that it had been easier for him to associate and befriend the infantry men and women while he harbored a certain disdain for the more scholarly and officer types. Eventually his attitude with a combination for his affinity for field and emergency medicine earned him a move over to the corpsmen; including specialization training as a paramedic. Once out of training, Ragnar had taken every possible assignment for disaster relief and emergency response. It wasn't until the Kuvexian War that Ragnar saw combat with the infantry units. It's quiet clear that he saw things that marked him to this day, but he was never one to talk about such things. However, when being reassigned people that knew the man and his general attitude noticed his disdain for officers and the like was deadened. When asked about it he would only give one answer; “Madman saved our lives, wish I could have been just a little faster.”

Physical: Ragnar was always a tall, strong boy which only carried into adulthood and was enhanced by a love for physical activity and exercise. When not working, eating, or sleeping, the man could be found at the nearest training facility.
