An invention derived from An ancient device used for several purposes, the Ulti-Tool was patented in YE 28 on Planet Nepleslia by a mechanic in need of a tool which he could use to pop open beer and drive screws. As he designed the tool, he found more and more needs to be fulfilled by a single tool. For days and days, the mechanic designed, edited, improvised, practiced, tested, designed, edited and designed some more until he finally came out with a proper tool. The patent was passed roughly two months after the design was completed, and production ensued. Early on, sales were low, but a recent increase in the need for utilitarian tools found the Ulti-Tool rising in popularity. Sales rose exponentially, and, needless to say, the mechanic became a very popular man.
