• Magazine capacity: 12 rounds.
• Damage Description: A flechette round is more like a canister than an actual impact round. Inside the canister are 60 4mm sabot darts that are the main damaging component of the round. Using a short-timed fuse, the canister breaks apart after being fired and releases all of the darts in a two meter radius cone. This creates a shotgun-style effect that gives an infantryman a dangerous close quarters weapon.

As the Abwehran Star Empire began to expand out into the galaxy, they began to realize that their military's Beschützer Series Mass-Driver Rifle was quickly becoming obsolete with age. This especially became apparent after their contact with Origin Industries. In order to keep their place as the Abwehran Armed Forces (AAF) military supplier, Kaiserlich Waffenerbauer requested aid from Kaiserlich F&E to design a reliable and effective mass driver rifle.

In the mid-Second quarter of AF 260 (YE 32), Kaiserlich Waffenerbauer released the 20mm Flechette Launcher as one of two attachments for their new MDR-06 Field Rifle. The area-of-effect punch of the 20mm Flechette gives the Abwehran infantryman a vital edge when needed to breach a room or combat enemies in an urban setting.
