Appearance

The Porter Pack is a rectangular frame of Durandium Alloy with two horizontal bars that are evenly spaced and a third bar that runs vertically down the middle. This section is affixed to a wall of foam padding that has been wrapped in a layer of Stone Thread strengthened Bulletproof Wool and then two shoulder straps with a vertical clip across the chest and across the waist for further support when carrying heavy loads.

Function

The Porter Pack is a frame work for efficiently carrying equipment on one’s back, various methods such as tie-down straps, Molecure Tape, zip-ties and a slew of various other gear-fastening-methods to secure piles of gear to the frame with ease.

The shoulder straps can be clipped together at the chest and the waist via smaller horizontal straps to help evenly distribute weight and take some of the strain away from the user.

A Bulletproof Wool section can be folded out from the bottom and fastened to the back to act as a weight-distributor that tie-down straps can be fed through.

A smart lamp is attached to the top, left-hand corner of the pack via a collapsible arm – it can run for 72 hours on a single charge and uses a motion tracker in the top of the frame to shine where the wearer is looking. The lamp is activated via a switch on the front of the left shoulder strap.

Donning and Doffing the Backpack

The backpack is worn by shrugging an adjustable strap over each shoulder, the wearer can then fasten the horizontal chest and waist straps by pressing their corresponding buckles together – the buckles are released by squeezing down on the top and bottom of each individual buckle.

It is recommended to have these horizontal straps done up when carrying larger and heavier objects to reduce strain and lessen the chance of a strain-related-injury.
