The Emrys Industries Kuromegane communications visor was originally created for the TCSF and SSS, it became available in YE 34.
The Emrys Kuromegane is a multi-function product that builds upon the concept of the Emrys Uno Sunglasses. It is a communications headset, binoculars with integrated video camera, lamp, and laser range finder. It has passive UV and active IR night vision capabilities. It is intended to allow personnel to remotely monitor what the wearers are seeing. It must be used with a communications device, such as a EM-G11 "Explorer" Field Communicator or similar which it connects to by wireless. Kuromegane means sunglasses in Yamataigo (邪馬台語).
The EM-G13 looks like wrap around tactical sunglasses/goggles, on either side are the visual pickups. The temples can be removed and replaced with a strap for strenuous activities. When not using the visuals the surface is transparent. When the visuals are active the exterior polarizes and the interior illuminates. Default color for the lens is yellow, but brown and grey are also available.
The EM-G13 can be controlled by verbal commands, or commands sent digitally by the linked communicator.
