Pre-RP

Firstborn to a traditionalist fyunnen family, Tay'rryn was quickly ushered into the role of a soldier by his parents and the extended relations sharing his barrack like home. Despite these initial pressures Tay'rryn displayed a compassionate demeanour taking joy in the life around him. Showing kindness to plants, animals, and even the few Helashio he encountered in these early years.

His gentle nature dismayed his family and he was encourage both through punishment and rewards to adopt a more proper disposition. Through the punishment fuelled by the shame his parents felt at having a son that did not exude the proud warrior qualities that they desired, Tay'rryn quickly learned to hide his kindness and was competent at faking the persona that was desired of him by the time his younger sister was born.

Surprised by the addition of a younger sibling Tay'rryn spent the first months of his sister's life confused, his home life upset beyond the strenuous demands of his parents and the preparation for the beginning of his schooling. Despite the way it destabilized his life, the addition of his younger sister was ultimately seen as a positive thing by Tay'rryn and he quickly became attached to her embracing that his kindness and care toward her was not criticized by his parents.

His initial reaction to school was one of disappointment having hoped for a chance to encounter others who may have been like him, Tay'rryn was dismayed to discover only more bravado and fanaticism from his peers. Hedged in from all sides by a lifestyle that he did not want Tay'rryn quickly learned that his best option was to spend as little time involved with these outside influences.

As the years passed Tay'rryn grew colder, interacting less with those around him apart from a warmth and kindness maintained toward his sister. Praised by his parents for his efficiency and accomplishments, he was questioned little by his family, though teachers and students would often comment on his asocial behaviour and tendencies to spend time alone.

Quickly becoming overshadowed by his younger sister as her fervour to achieve led her to excel in the eyes of her mentors and peers, Tay'rryn found that for the first time in over two decades he had time to be himself again. No longer the focus of his parent's full expectations Tay'rryn remained quietly efficient while putting in extra effort to aid his sister taking advantage of the relief that her accomplishments allowed him.

Continuing this pattern for the rest of his schooling career Tay'rryn drifted easily from schooling into training for the LSDF. During training Tay'rryn unexpectedly found another opportunity to be himself without worry of outside eyes with his first foray into survival training. Coming to love the freedom and peace that the wilderness offered him Tay'rryn shifted his efficiency in a more focused direction volunteering for any and all opportunities that arose to hone his survival skills.

His time spent on frequent survival unintentionally led to his his superiors to pressing him into a position of reconnaissance taking advantage of his silent movement, keen observation skills and situational awareness. Found to be as quiet in the halls of buildings and star-ships as he was in the wilds Tay'rryn was somewhat popular point-man in group exercises for his efficiency and reliability offsetting his cold and asocial attitude.

Planet side for additional training and aiding instructors Tay'rryn avoided most of the conflict that culminated in the Moon Drop. During the panic as events unfolded Tay'rryn was involved in organizing the evacuation of the planet stationed near his home owing to his familiarity with the area. By chance while working to move people to escape Tay'rryn came across his sister who had gone into shock after being injured during the panic. Forced to carry his sister to the shuttles while picking up any stragglers he could Tay'rryn barely made it aboard as it took off unknowing that it would be one of the last shuttles to make it off planet.

The years that followed were chaotic with Tay'rryn having his position in the LSDF shuffled frequently never quite finding a ship to call home. Presently he finds himself stationed aboard the LSDF Kas'vi enduring the trials of isolation and a crew that he is far from fond of.

To Tear Free (Chapter 3)

Aboard the LSDF Kas'vi Glacier was alerted to a call for volunteers to transfer to the LSDF Akahar. Seeing this as an opportunity to perhaps change his circumstances Glacier was more than happy to collect his belongings and travel to the hangar where the transfer shuttle awaited.

Standing amongst the crowd as they chattered about myths and rumours Glacier's resolve to leave the Kas'vi was reinforced and he was one of the few to step forward for the transfer along with Widow, Pitch, Bright, and surprisingly the Chaplain Ha'reiel.

After a short shuttle ride to the new ship it quickly became apparent that all was not well aboard the Akahar as nearby electronics began to play clips of sound followed by a mental invasion that suggested much more was wrong than simple malfunctions of equipment. Unnerved by the development, Glacier retrieved his combat equipment and proceeded cautiously through the ship eventually ending up in the Akahar's bridge where they attempted to discern some information relating to the situation at hand while waiting for the arrival of the Acting Captain Keib.

Learning of the infection and the danger presented Glacier did their best to aid in the crew's efforts to contain and control the situation taking advantage of the available Wind suits and Gust augment kits. Shortly later the decision was made to make a sortie into the ship to rendezvous with the Acting Captain and provide support after one of the the hostile entities was encountered near an access stairwell.

After managing to seal the threat within the access-way the decision was made to attempt to destroy the hostile using the combined firepower of the soldiers present. During the planning the figure of Bastion arrived displaying a worrying sign that they too were compromised. In the ensuing encounter Bastion charged the hostile entity and was killed in a following antimatter detonation having failed to react properly to the Chaplain's warning.

With one of their number dead, the group returned to the bridge to regroup and plan their next course of action discussing amongst themselves their options and sharing their perspectives during the next several hours while isolated in the Bridge of the Akahar.

Determining that they could no longer safely remain locked away it was decided that they would make an attempt to evacuate the ship. Immediately as the crew started off on their journey to ensure that the facilities of the Akahar were properly shut down they encounter one of the Freespacers aboard the vessel and after an uncomfortable pause she was integrated into the group allowing all present to proceed.

Working their way down the ship the remains of Mars were acquired and sealed away before the crew continued downward eventually splitting into two groups before Glacier's group was assaulted by hostile freespacers equipped with makeshift rockets, causing harm with thermite and ball bearing shrapnel before being subdued by Pitch.

Moving into Utilities there was a brief time in which information was gathered and the systems were to be shut down, where in the Beast attempted to assault the group in the flesh instead of the frequent psychic assaults that had plagued the ship. A decision by Bright to open the doors put the entire crew into a panic as their choke point was effectively dismantled causing a quick retreat.

At this point the Chaplain split off from the main group heading for the hangar with Pitch in tow for the purposes of acquiring hardware to destroy the ships and prevent the spread of the infection. The rest of the group following the orders of the Acting Captain proceeded toward the escape pods and briefly encountered and entity that had been mistaken as the Beast before proving to be bait.

Not wanting to risk any further chances of contact Glacier joined the rest of the crew in the escape pods where he would endure the wait while trying to avoid radiation poisoning as Pitch, the Chaplain, and the Beast decided both the fate of the Akahar and the Mok'ro.

After a brief but trying period of combat, things seemed to calm, the Beast regaining a shard of her pervious self the former medic Merril. Shortly after the Lazarus Consortium vessel the Mynydoed arrived with Matriarchy reinforcements soon to follow. After a briefly heated exchange the vessel offered to put the situation in Matriarchy control while providing emergency medical services to the irradiated crew.

A period of medical aid and debriefing led to the crew parting ways, and the beginning of some well deserved leave.
