Rather than being a new weapon, the Ke-M12-W3302 Nodal Support Drone Hangar is a hangar for the exact same Nodal Support Drones(NSDs) used by the Ke-M2-2D "Mindy II" Power Armor. It was designed for the Kirie Thought Armor and the Keiko Thought Armor by Kage Yaichiro-Chusa in YE 33. In YE 39, upgraded variants of the Kirie and Keiko were released and these components were altered to be modular, but retain the same function.
These weapons were made for the Ke-M2-2D "Mindy II" Power Armor, but were made available for the Kirie Thought Armor and the Keiko Thought Armor due to their versatility. However, due to legal issues with scalar weaponry and using the non-civilian grade “Heavy Mode” of fire on the Nekovalkyrja Service Pistol, Type 28-based NSDs, Kirie and Keiko units were initially deployed wither with empty Launchers or Launchers stocked with special NSDs which used the civilian Nekovalkyrja Service Pistol, Type 28’s components. It was not until assistance from Ketsurui Fleet Yards was obtained at a later time that these launchers were loaded and armed with standard NSDs. Launchers constructed before KFY involvement have the nomenclature PT-M2-W3301.
The launcher does not stick out of the Power Armor, but fits into the rear of the upper leg below the knee joint. A panel opens to deploy the NSDs from the hangar. Due to this the hangar is less obvious and more streamlined than on the Mindy series. They can recharge using the CFS of the Kirie/Keiko, or they can return to their hangar for recharging.
The NSDs themselves are the size of a hand, and are under the control of the Power Armor’s Integrated Electronics System. Up to six can be carried and deployed. In addition to allowing more points of view for better targeting solutions, they can look around corners, shoot at enemy missiles, or even enemy craft and personnel. Their built in weapons are effectively identical to a standard Nekovalkyrja Service Pistol, Type 28.
Location: Rear of upper leg, below knee NSD STL speed: 0.40c maximum Purpose: Anti-personnel, Pin-point attacks/defense Payload 6 Nodal Support Drones, each drone can support 200 shots without recharge from the Mindy's CFS - contact with CFS restores 100 shots per second. 1 second of operation out of the Mindy's CFS bubble expends 10 of those shots to power movement. Notes: Automatically programmed to attack incoming missiles if no countermeasures are being used (or depleted).
DR Ratings are compliant with Damage Rating (Version 3).
