SSS - Satellite Campus

In the latter part of YE 31, the Scientific Studies Service (SSS) began offering small campuses to other locations. These facilities were limited in scope to provide more off campus education.

These campuses allow military and civilian personnel who can not get to Yamatai (Planet) to take classes. Unlike online offerings which are a single class structure, these classes fall into the regular curriculum.

Students attending classes at a Satellite Campus must have their own quarters. SSS rents living space for all staff at the campus.

Satellite Campuses come in three size/configurations. The SSS either rents the necessary space on artificial structures, or purchases land and buildings on planets.

This is the smallest off-site education facility that the SSS establishes. They have the following facilities:

• 4 Offices (Reception/Admin, Finance, Counselor, Nurse)
• 1 Faculty Lounge
• 1 Snack area, with vending machines
• 8 Classrooms (30 student capacity each)
• 2 Lecture halls
• 2 Student Labs
• 1 Library access room

This is the mid-range off-site education facility that the SSS establishes. They have the following facilities:

• 10 Offices (Reception/Admin, Finance, Counselor, Nurse)
• 1 Faculty Lounges
• 1 Student Lounges
• 2 Snack areas, with vending machines
• Cafeteria, offers breakfast and lunch only
• 16 Classrooms (30 student capacity each)
• 6 Student Labs
• 2 Library access room

This is the largest off-site education facility that the SSS establishes. They have the following facilities:

• 20 Offices (Reception/Admin, Finance, Counselors, Nurse)
• 2 Faculty Lounges
• 3 Student Lounges
• 4 Snack areas, with vending machines
• Cafeteria (provides breakfast, lunch, dinner, and evening snack)
• 36 Classrooms (30 student capacity each)
• 9 Lecture halls
• 10 Student Labs
• 2 Library access room
