Medical personnel are responsible for the care and treatment of all personnel in the Scientific Studies Service (SSS). Medical personnel fall into the following categories.
EMS perform are trained in basic first aid, triage, and other first provider activities. They can stabilize a patient, split injuries, and prepare the injured for transport. They are trained to use standard emergency medical equipment.
Nurses have all the training of the EMS, plus they are taught to diagnose, and treat most common ailments. They are capable of administering standard treatments without supervision, and assisting doctors with complex treatments. They are trained to use standard medical equipment, as well as more advanced ones. Nurses can also assist with routine physicals and examinations.
Doctors are fully trained to deal with basic, acute and chronic illnesses and provide preventive care. They can treat broken bones, deal with lacerations, punctures, and severe burns. Doctors are capable of performing routine physicals, examinations, and minor surgery. They are trained in the use of the following equipment:
These are doctors who have taken their skill either into the research realm, or have specialized in a specific field of medicine.
