The Pitbull is the latest evolution of NAM's UMD (Universal Mass Driver) Canisters technology, created in YE 41 to serve as a handheld weapon to equip power armor users that wanted something with more flexibility than the Moneyshot while still firing physical projectiles. Intended to equip marksmen and snipers, the Pitbull is a long and accurate weapon.

The Pitbull AAMD is a newly developed weapon that utilizes armor grade UMD Canisters. Based on the earlier Bulldog and other UMD weapons, the Pitbull is an electromagnetic mass driver that uses a pair of conductive rails to accelerate a munitions canister to hypersonic velocities.

In order to extend the weapon's range and stopping power, the Pitbull includes a virtual barrel system to increase the length of the acceleration rails. It does this using a high powered combat laser to ionize the air directly in front of the barrel, then extends electromagnetic fields that shape the plasma into a virtual electromagnetically charged rails. When the weapon's round is accelerated by the weapon's own internal rails, the virtual barrel will functionally extend the time the payload is accelerated for. When in a situation with no atmosphere, the Pitbull can spit out its own gas to be ionized.

The Pitbull is somewhat simplistic as far as weapons go, though that fits its purpose and ease of construction; the appearance is almost meancing and mean looking. The weapon has a tubular barrel with metallic furniture encasing it, with a boxy main receiver and narrow rectangular boxes bracketing the top and bottom of the barrel that contain the system that generates the virtual barrel.

The Pitbull uses the same grip and trigger assembly as the Moneyshot, though the rear of the weapon features numerous differences. Just behind the weapon's sight sits the magazine well, into which the user inserts the magazine. Behind this is the Pitbull's stock, which is thick and has recoil dampeners to keep the weapon's recoil down.

• Firing Mechanism: The loaded round in the Pitbull is rapidly accelerated down the barrel by electromagnetic rails within the weapon's barrel and the rails of the virtual barrel. The next round is then pushed into the barrel from the magazine.
