Unlike the corridors of an NMX ship, a Nekovalkyrja Barracks can be well-lit. The lights are controlled by a simple console located next to the door. These barracks are typically very spartan and cramped, holding up to fifty Nekovalkyrja. Nekovalkyrja can sleep in hammocks hung from the ceiling in stacks of four, the exception being a lonely hammock in the corner near the door reserved for the senior enlisted. One wall is reserved for small light green footlockers where the Nekovalkyrja may store their meager possessions and uniforms. On another wall (typically opposite of the lockers) are simple stalls for toilets and sinks built into the wall. In the corner, sharing the same space is a large laundry machine for uniforms and clothing.
It is known that the hammocks are made of a thick plastic mesh and simple metal hooks that can be attached to the appropriate receptacle or can be striped and drilled into things such as wood. They are small enough for an average Nekovalkyrja to sleep in, while large enough to safely hold them by having the excess space 'wrap' up on the Neko.
The footlockers a small, 2×2 boxes that can hold an NMX Nekovalkyrja's uniform and their few possessions. They have a simple padlock attached to them that can be opened by inputting the right sequence of numbers on a spin-dial.
