The Elefirn have a long and troubled past, starting with their evolution and ending with their entanglement with the Kuvexians.
The Elefirn began as single cell organisms that slowly became mammals on their planet of Polup. Out of the water they had come and onto land they stayed, becoming short-legged quadrupeds. Then, after millennia, they began to grow and change as the environment around them did, as well. Though they were at one time prey to predators that eventually were surpassed by the Elefirn and wiped to extinction after the Elefirn became bipedal and learned tools and tactics for survival. Their intelligence rooted itself to become firmly at the top of the food chain of Polup.
Living in a time of clansmanship and small-time empires, the Elefirn chose to pay service to the lords over their clans instead of overseeing kings or presidents. This worked for tens of thousands of years before the population was too high for small villages and towns to be the central figures in the lives of the Elefirn.
Upon coming to the conclusion that there were not the right kind of leaders, the Elefirn forced themselves into a war of turmoil and strife in order to find the victor that would become their new king. In the process, all of the leaders were killed or ousted and there was no one left to head the differing groups of Elefirn. And, so, they went leaderless for a decade before a leader appeared out of the masses.
Ekeial the Great was brought to power by her family, friends, and followers after she became a prophesier of the end times growing near. She and her successors ruled over the Elefirn for centuries and soon, their legacy died with the end of a lineage and three unmarried daughters.
The War of Want lasted what seemed an eternity until a peace was reached in which the leader of the Erefirn would be an elected official. During this time, space flight to their moon as well as the outer planet, Jilo, was achieved by fighting amongst pseudo leaders to gain dominance over one another.
During the time in which they had begun to elect officials, the Elefirn were in a time of peace and quietude which was unbesmircked. During this time, space flight was enumerated on, though they didn't get out of their system.
The push towards space flight and invention outside of the star system led to a space renaissance amongst the Elefirn that pushed from the star system outwards.
When the Elefirns traveled outside of the Adir system to dissect what was beyond the system, they came across the Kuvexians and Rixxikor. Immediately, several thousands of Elefirn were enslaved by the Kuvexians and those that escaped did so, though only a few hundred got past the clutches of the Kuvexians. Those escaped Elefirn created a station in space unexplored by the Kuvexians and have yet to be found by them.
Alien invaders in the form of the Kuvexians found the Elefirns at their lower status than the Kuvexians found themselves and they took advantage of this, using the Elefirn for menial work in their territories. The Elefirn remained on their own planet to some degree, held as hostages by the Kuvexian threat that they may one day be taken from there to serve under the Kuvexians. They were hostages to the Kuvexian way and even on their own planet, they began to be indoctrinated with the expectations the Kuvexians had of them. After several thousands of years of this, the Elefirn changed from a relatively peaceful people to one that had adopted the ways of their captors. They had become hostile to outside races, used their physiological characteristics against the enemies of the Kuvexians.
